Hi guys, I hope we are all doing good. Happy new month, once again. I have come to share my reaction to Kiss. Talking about what would have changed in my life if I have less possessions. To be frank guys, a lot would have changed, though my possessions aren't too much, but if I have less than what I have now, the story would have been different. I know many would say life is not measured by the number of things we possess, but we sincerely need to possess some things, without which our daily lives may have been more strenuous.
Guys, imagine how my small car has been so helpful in term of transportation. Where I live is a bit far from home. To get commercial bus to work every morning is not a child's play. Even when you get it, it is guaranteed that you will get to work late. These cars could stop a million times on the road to drop off some people and pick others. In my own case, I work with a very strict organisation where lateness is not condone for any reason. If I hadn't got my car, I would have lost my job to perpetual lateness.
Also, part of my possessions are my clothes. I wonder how my lives would have been without some beautiful clothes. Seriously, I wouldn't have fit so well in my place of work. I work at a place where we don't dress shabily. If not for the clothes I have, low self esteem would have hunt me. My beautiful clothes, are instrumental to my confidence and good customer relations at work. Many people compliment my dressing and many always want to have something to do with me, just for my self- carriage at times. So, things may have taken another round without these possessions.
Possessions are not always evil as many thought. In fact, in some professions, some possessions are necessities for you to get clients and be entrusted with some projects. I remember how I discouraged my friend, an engineer not to get a car sometime ago. He however enlightened me on the importance of possessing it. At that time he was lobbying for a project from the state government. So, he told me no one with entrust you with million naira with of project, if he keeps hopping on bikes. They will just think, he's just a poor novice. I however saw reasons in what he was saying. No matter how simple we are, some possessions are necessities. They are blessings to our daily living and life wouldn't have been easier without them.
Also, as a lady, there are things that are advisable to possess. No matter how simple we are. Our possessions of these things often give us prestige and earn us accolades when we go to our husbands' house. I never thought it important to own some things as a lady and take to one's husband's house until a friend contacted me, and complained how his fiancee does not own anything of her own. He said her fiancee does not even own a blender not to talk of other things. He told me when he visited her, she even had no cotton on her window for her own comfort, even when he's earning well. My friend told me He doesn't like such attitude. It is not everything we wait on our husbands' to get. I think it is not bad to get some possessions that can make our lives easier on daily basis, and lessen our burdens.
In fact, I possess some other things like blender, fridge, toaster, generator and few other things that would have made my living on daily basis hectic, if I don't possess them. I believe it is good to possess those things we need if we can afford them.
However, I also believe some possessions are not worth it. There are some possessions that we rarely use. They just occupy space and become a problem, especially when we want to relocate. I possess one of such. It's a traditional oven that I rarely use. So, it wouldn't have made any changes if I didn't possess it.
To crown it all, most of my possessions are necessities and lots would have changed without them.
Thanks for stopping by.
