One Side of the Glass

When I first put a piece of lard in the feeder, the fattest tit in town showed up. She settled right in and started pecking away as if this were the most important moment of her life.

Can you imagine the cat’s reaction? He was sitting on the other side of the window, eyes wide, those big orange saucers of his, staring in mild outrage at that fearless feathery backside. Experience told him he’d never catch that brazen bird. And maybe the bird knew she was safe, which is why she carried on so calmly. Or maybe she simply decided that lard was more important than anything else in the world.

Unfortunately, I didn’t think to photograph my cat together with this tit at the time... but you’ll meet him in tomorrow’s post. Stay tuned!
