The Disconnect

We share space, but not always attention.

The most ironic fact of our time: a device created to connect us has become the main barrier between us. Progress has made it possible to talk to anyone, anytime, anywhere — yet people stand right next to each other, each living in their own world. The phone turns a sociable person into someone less so.

Technology can change the form of communication, but it cannot erase our biological need to simply talk.
