I was rooting for the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco to get to tht finals of the WAFCON and even go ahead and lift the trophy having seen Nigeria crash out at the quarter finals. They only have the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon to brush aside and make this wish a reality.
But that was not to be as the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon had other ideas. Thus, in the semifinal match with the host Morocco, both teams di everything to win it within the regulation time. But the match was decided by a penalty shootout following a goalless draw and the host lost t by (3-1) on penalties.
Now, they will face familiar foes Algeria for the third place.
