Miguel has always dreamt of furthering his education at Lé Meridén Heights. This is because he has seen most boys within his vicinity schooling there and graduating in flying colours. He also loves their school uniform.
That hunger made him work tirelessly to gain admission there. He read like never before when he was preparing for entrance examination for the school. When his results came out, Miguel was able to score a high mark which not only above the cut off mark but was amongst the top scorers. He was overjoyed the day he saw the results.
Preparations started in earnest as he keeps dreaming about the school. Words had gone round his vicinity that Miguel will soon be leaving for Lé Meridén Heights. His parents, though not bouyant enough, were able to raise the required funds for his education.
When Miguel arrived Lé Meridén Heights, he was promptly registered and assigned a room where he met other boys within his age range. On the first weekend of their enrollment, every fresh student is required to sing and danve with others around a burnfire. Miguel saw this as a funny tradition.
That very night, the older students came and took all freshers to the school assembly. Miguel saw many faces he had not seen before - both old and new students. When they got there, a big fire had already been set up and the stage set for the freshers' night. Miguel joined others and sang and danced round the burnfire.
Later, they were served with food and drinks and towards midnight the event came to an end and all went back to their various hostels.
This is my entry for the day's @daily.prompt: A Funny Tradition
