Jones and Chris had to reach an understanding following the last quarrel they had over their common boundary. It's been a regular source of quarrels and fights between them. Save for the intervention of their Priest this last fight would have been bloody.
After the truce was made, an agreement was signed by the two waring parties and a copy given to them for keeps. When Chris came back he showed his wife the copy of the agreement and after they had read it together Chris tucked it away.
Few years later both Jones and Chris passed away leaving behind their wives and children. Then came the farming season and Chris wife decided to clear her husband's own portion of the land. Mrs Jones started alleging that she had crossed the boundary. Soon another quarrel was brewing. She was asked to produce the last agreement signed by his late husband with Chris.
She searched everywhere but could not find the original copy of the truce. Then Mrs Chris who read the document with the late husband went into their mini library and pulled out a copy of an agreement. When the jurors looked at it they saw that it is an original copy duly signed by the then waring parties. They boundaries were properly traced and it was discovered that she never trespassed in the first place. Mrs Jones having seen the truth was duly cautined and the matter was once again settled there and then.
Both parties went home and continued to live in peace.
