RE: Television Review: Where No One Has Gone Before (Star Trek: The Next Generation, S1X06, 1987)

Pulling from Diane Duane’s The Wounded Sky was the move that convinced me TNG could widen its toolbox. It brought in big ideas without the usual techno babble drag, and you can feel the world get larger around the crew. Wesley’s instant prodigy treatment still feels like someone hit fast forward on his career, but the book DNA helps the hour land. Got a favorite later Trek episode that borrows from the novels?
