Fridays are usually my “one walk, get it done, don’t overcomplicate it” kind of day. Normally, the evening gets hijacked by errands, groceries, random stops, basically adulting. But today? No errands. Freedom. So what did I do with this glorious opportunity? I mowed the lawn. Yeah, living the dream.
And let me tell you, the lawn suddenly felt like the Amazon rainforest. Every push of the mower, I was convinced I was torching calories and steps like crazy. Step counter disagreed. Didn’t even sniff 10k. Apparently, Apple Watch doesn’t count emotional suffering as cardio.
But here’s the thing: I got my walk in, I cut the grass, and the sky looked like it was painted by a caffeinated Van Gogh. Sometimes, fitness isn’t about chasing numbers, it’s about stacking small wins, laughing at how ridiculous the process feels, and realizing that even mowing can be momentum.
So yeah, my step count is underwhelming. But my lawn? Winter-ready. My head? Clear. And honestly, that’s a better ROI than running laps at the mall.
