You know how sometimes your day doesn’t go at all the way you planned? Today was one of those. The kids weren’t up for much, too much pain, too much discomfort, so suddenly, my evening opened up.
I could’ve flopped onto the couch, but instead I laced up and hit the path. And wow, am I glad I did.
The weather was showing off, clear skies, golden rays slicing through the trees, the canal like a mirror holding the day’s last light. I kept walking. One km became five. Then eight. Then twelve. Not because I had to, but because it felt right.
The goal lately has been to slowly build up my walking distance, and today was a little milestone. 12km on a Friday I didn’t see coming? That’s a win.
Also… pro tip: golden hour walks might not fix everything, but they sure help clear the head. And if you’re lucky, you’ll stumble across a mushroom that looks like it’s straight out of a fairytale 🍄✨
