โšก The Botlord toolkit keeps growing, and now it even remembers you

Hey Hive ๐Ÿ‘‹

Apparently, putting all my free Hive tools together at https://tools.botlord.eu did not make me stop building new things. If anything, it made the list of things I still wanted to improve considerably more visible, which is usually how these projects get out of hand.

So, while the tools were already working, I kept tinkering with them. Some changes are small, some are genuinely useful, and a few may even save you enough time to finish your coffee before it gets cold. Mine is already cold, obviously, but that is beside the point here.

Everything mentioned below is free and opt-in, and whenever a Hive transaction needs to be signed, that still happens inside your own wallet. Your keys never leave Keychain, because some things really do not need to be made more exciting.

๐Ÿชช Your Hive account now looks better when you share it

You could already open card.botlord.eu/@you and get a quick overview of a Hive account, including its reputation, Hive Power, account age and the tipping tiers it qualifies for.

What is new is that you can now share that card properly. Drop the link on PeakD, Ecency, X or Discord, and it unfolds into an actual preview instead of sitting there like a lonely URL hoping somebody will click it.

The same treatment has now been added to every tool in the suite, so links to Hive Earnings, Governance, the token board and the other tools finally look like something worth opening.

You can try it by opening your own card, clicking ๐Ÿ”— Share, and dropping the result into the comments. Yes, that is also a shameless attempt to get you to test it for me. ๐Ÿ˜

๐Ÿ’ฌ Reply & Tip is becoming a habit, apparently

My project https://reply.botlord.eu started as a faster way to work through replies, mentions and tips without opening seventeen tabs and forgetting what you were doing somewhere around tab number six.

It has grown quite a bit since then.

There is now an unread counter on the app icon and browser tab, showing how many replies and mentions are still waiting for you. You can also enable alerts, if you want the tool to remind you even when it is closed. This is entirely optional, because we already have enough applications demanding our attention as if they pay rent.

I also added a reply streak, so you can see how many consecutive days you have been replying. It is a small thing, but small things have a strange habit of keeping us moving.

And if you are not ready to connect Keychain yet, there is now a โ€œtry without loginโ€ option. You can preview your feed and see how the tool works before signing anything.

On desktop, you can install Reply & Tip as an app and let it sit quietly in the background. On mobile, you will still need to open it inside the Hive Keychain browser when you want to publish replies.

๐ŸงŸ Governance can now clean up your ghosts

If you missed my post about bringing out your dead, well https://governance.botlord.eu now checks your witness votes and explains their health in normal human language, or at least language that does not require you to read blockchain documentation before breakfast.

More importantly, it identifies witnesses that have genuinely stopped producing blocks or shut down. Those old votes can remain attached to an account for years, quietly occupying one of the thirty available witness-vote slots. Even some very large accounts turned out to have a ghost or two hiding in their list, so this is definitely not only a beginner problem.

The new ๐Ÿงน Clean up dead votes button removes all confirmed dead witness votes with a single signature. Once those slots are free, the tool helps you find active witnesses you may want to support instead.

Governance is not the sexiest corner of Hive, granted, but neither is maintaining a server until the day it stops working. Both suddenly become considerably more interesting when nobody has been paying attention.

๐Ÿ“Š Hive Earnings can now tell the story of your week

And yes, https://hiveearnings.botlord.eu has also received several additions.

The first is My Hive Week, which creates a digest of your recent author rewards, curation rewards, tips and delegation income. You can edit the generated recap and publish it to your own Hive blog with one click, saving you from manually collecting numbers from several different pages and then wondering why one total does not match the other.

For the savers, there is now a #SlothlySavers option as well. You can enter your yearly savings goals, and the tool automatically fills in your current progress, complete with progress bars, ready to edit and post in the SlothBuzz community. And yes, even with this nifty and time-saving feature, I haven't yet come around to posting my own saving state yet... But maybe today! Or tomorrow...

The delegation ROI tool has become a little smarter too. It now includes Hive-Engine tokens received from delegations when calculating their value. Many tools only look at the HIVE or HBD returned and may therefore label a delegation as disappointing, while it is quietly paying additional rewards in tokens. Whether those tokens are actually worth something is, of course, another question, but ignoring them entirely was not exactly accurate either.

๐Ÿ“ค Token Sender is now completely free

hts.botlord.eu no longer has different usage tiers. Every feature is now available for free, including batch transfers to as many as 250 recipients, individual amounts per recipient and CSV imports.

Saved recipient lists have also evolved into proper templates. A template can remember the token, amounts and memo as well as the accounts, which means recurring distributions can be loaded again with one click instead of being rebuilt every time.

That should be especially useful for communities, token projects and anyone else who regularly sends the same kind of payment to a long list of people. It may also reduce the number of spreadsheets called final_payout_v3_really_final.csv, which would already be a respectable contribution to civilisation.

๐Ÿ”— One identity across the whole toolkit

The different tools now recognise the same Hive username.

If you log in, or simply enter your account name in one tool, the others remember it as well. You no longer need to type the same username again every time you move from your account card to Hive Earnings, Governance or another part of the toolkit. Even the main hub now greets you when you return.

Only the public username is shared between the tools. Keys remain inside Keychain and are never passed around, stored or handled by the suite.

It is a relatively small change technically, but it makes the whole collection feel less like a row of separate experiments and more like one connected toolkit, which was always the idea.

Why make all of it free?

Because useful Hive tools need users more than they need fences.

Every tool in the Botlord suite is now free, with no paid tiers or features hidden behind a delegation. There may be an optional support message here and there, because servers still stubbornly refuse to run on goodwill and cold coffee, but using the tools does not depend on paying me.

I am also running the @botlord witness, and in my opinion, building useful infrastructure is part of that job. If these tools make Hive a little easier to use, help people participate or simply save somebody fifteen minutes of repetitive work, then they are doing what they were built to do.

So try them, test the strange corners, and tell me what is missing. Quite a few of the features above exist because somebody asked for them, or because I became annoyed enough by a repetitive task to automate it. Both are perfectly valid development strategies.

And if you think the toolkit deserves to remain online and keep growing, you can support it with a witness vote for @botlord. That is the only ask, and even that remains optional.

Now I should probably stop adding features for five minutes and drink that coffee.

Although it really is too late for that one. And I'm already building again, but for other communities now. Tell me when you've seen it!

See you around the blockchain. โšก

๐Ÿ”ง I build things on Hive...

Apparently I have a slight problem with leaving things alone when I think they could work better, so over time that turned into quite a collection of free Hive tools.

Account stats, tipping, earnings, governance, witness tools and several other things I probably built because I needed them myself first.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Explore my Hive tools

Everything is free to use, and I'm still adding things. Because apparently having hobbies wasn't enough.

๐Ÿค– ...and I run a witness too

A lot of those tools, bots and other experiments exist because I'm still very much invested in building on Hive, including the boring infrastructure underneath it all.

If you think that deserves a witness vote:

๐Ÿ‘‰ Vote for @botlord
But these are also backed by me!
๐Ÿ‘‰ Vote for @nathalie-s
๐Ÿ‘‰ Vote for @aliveandmmb
๐Ÿ‘‰ Vote for @bradleyarrow

And while you're there, it never hurts to check whether the rest of your witness votes are still going to active witnesses. Ghosts are notoriously bad at producing blocks.

๐Ÿ’ฅ Tip someone, make their day slightly better

I also run a growing family of tipping bots, including !INDEED, !HOPE, !WEIRD and a few other creatures that escaped from the server room.

You can check their status, availability and more here:

It's !WEIRD !INDEED that your "account card" page (where mine is at https://card.botlord.eu/card?u=savvytester) shows that I can tip LUV 10 times a day (even when the LUV token tipping bot has been disabled more than a year ago), and that I can tip only 1 WINEX a day (UTC) when I can actually tip 2 WINEX per day. ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿคฏ That page needs some fixes! ๐Ÿค“๐Ÿ˜…
