I recently got back into collecting Pokémon cards. It was a lot of fun as a kid. I even had a Water/Psychic/Normal deck that revolved around Mewtwo, Articuno, Gyarados and Light Dragonite that went 60 wins in a row before I lost with it. I don't have time to battle anymore, but I have time to collect for fun.
Sadly, I sold all of mine years ago. One of my favorites was an Ancient Mew holographic card I got back in 2000 for buying a ticket to the Pokémon Movie. I tracked one down on eBay that wasn't horribly expensive. Everything looked good according to the pictures.
Looks good, right? Not quite.
I'll be using this as a project card. I have a good idea of how to restore it without causing further damage. It's obnoxious that these defects weren't listed in the auction, and clearly aren't apparent in the photos. The worst part is this is by far one of the best specimens compared to others I saw. It'll take some time, but this project will be worth it once it's done.
