Music has a magical way of triggering memories from the past. We can hear a song we recognize and suddenly nostalgia from the past comes flooding back to us. If you haven't heard this song before, shame on you! Just kidding. But seriously, it's a classic. These days, you can't go through a Christmas season without hearing this song or watching at least one variation of the movie.
Jordan Smith does such a great job jazzing up this classic that I'd argue I like it more than the original. It's so well done between the instrumental pieces and him adding his own "flair" to it that it's now permanently in my Christmas playlist.
I grew up watching the original How The Grinch Stole Christmas movie from 1957. This song brings back memories of multiple December nights leading up to Christmas, watching the movie and then heading to bed, one day closer to the big day.

I don't know if it's just me, but as a kid the Christmas season seemed to last two months. Now as an adult it feels like I blink a few times and half of December is gone. Blink a few more times and Christmas has passed and we've already entered the new year. I think immersing myself in the festivities, watching Christmas movies and listening to Christmas music helps prolong that Christmas feeling so I don't feel like time is whizzing past me.
