Just imagine a fisherman casting his net into the stream and catching no fish for many consecutive times. The way such fishermen would feel is exactly how most of not all movies would be without music. Then that same feeling also applies if the wrong soundtrack is used at the wrong moment.
Music and movies walk in hands to make one entertained while watching the screen. Sometimes music in movies can be used to send messages and sometimes, it could just serve as background noise. In a movie, during a robbery scene, while the robbers are speeding up to escape with the bag of money, the rap song at the background may be considered as a background noise but if accidentally one of the robbers is shot, and the fellow robbers are caught, a song of sorrow may apply then.
Most of the songs on my playlist are actually from movies. This is to say that movies can promote music and music can also promote movies. From a discussion I was having with a friend, he did mention that it was Celine Dion’s song in Titanic that promoted the movie to some level of recognition. I don't know if that's true but definitely, music and movies do promote each other. Some upcoming artistes who perform in most movies and get recognized in the movies they act in can also gain recognition as well as their music career. And guess what, when top musicians take part in some movies, their fans definitely would love to watch their movie to see what their role model presented.
The title of this week's prompt reminds me of my primary school days when we used to watch cartoons in class after our short and quick learning periods. I can't forget those rhymes we used to watch and sing along with. In this case, we can say that music and movies have collaborated to bring about learning. Those rhymes helped me to learn to speak fluently from a young age.
Music has so influenced movies that some movies are more of music and dances than actions and drama. Try watching an Indian movie, then you'll understand that music is really dominating actions in their movies.
Remember, music is live and for movies to look lively, I guess music has to combo with it. Cartoons make use of music and attractive sounds to make it entertaining to children and easily catch their attention.
When it comes to music and movies, I would say that it's movies that really need music, not otherwise.
So generally, all I'm trying to pass down is the fact that music and movies can't be separated to have complete fun in the entertainment industry.
