Yesterday, Sunday, after several days of continuous rain, the morning, although the sky was grey, was the right time to leave the house and go for a walk. As the village where I was located is on the Camino de Santiago, I decided to do a part of a stage of this route of about 10 kilometres.
Although there are still many weeks to go until the feast of Saint James, due to the Holy Week it was easy to cross paths with some pilgrims on the way home.
The part of the stage that I did runs along a lot of partially asphalted road. And if you look at the surroundings you can see the skies, threatening rain, contrasting with the typical vegetation of other latitudes such as palm trees.
I really enjoyed seeing spring in all its splendour along the way. The fruit trees such as lemon and orange trees are full of fruit.
Other fruit trees such as fig trees look splendid, laden with figs. Although these are still small, so in a few weeks if the cold weather does not come again, I think there will be plenty of figs to eat. I know as a pilgrim, that coming across public trees laden with fruit is a blessing when you are backpacking the Camino.
I also noticed that the vast majority of the meadows surrounding the road are full of exuberant vegetation with the arrival of spring. A multitude of wild flowers where the yellow flowers stand out from the rest.

As I walked, my eyes and nose began to water and sneeze. And no wonder with the multitude of spiky grasses there.
These grasses give unique pictures, but if you are allergic like me, it is better to be equipped with a good antihistamine. And moreover, after a few days of rain, the plants want to expand and release their pollen more energetically.
Undoubtedly and despite the allergy, doing part of a stage of the Camino de Santiago yesterday morning was a pleasant experience after days closed in by the heavy rains, with the sound of birds chirping and flying close to you.
Best regards.
