Freewriting Dailyprompt: what's in that chest?

in Freewriters13 days ago

My boyfriend bought her a penchant, so when she came home, she hid it and she didn't want to wear it.

When it was time, she was about to go for that party, she wore it and she wanted to sneak out. When her mother caught her and asked her what is in that chest, she could not answer.

She lied that she bought it. Then they asked her where she got the money from. She could not answer also, until when her brother came and said that it was her boyfriend. She was stopped from going for the party and she became angry and she started crying inside.

They seized the penchant and told her that she was not going to wear it. But is it good for parents to look after their teenage daughter?
You know that? Not to be misled by a boy's surrender. Or was it the right decision taken by her mother? Because she was just protecting her daughter.

You set up a very relatable scene with the necklace and the party, and I liked how you turned it into a bigger question about whether a mother was protecting her teenage daughter or being too strict. Since you’re writing reflective story-based posts like this, hivepro.ai could be useful if you want help polishing the storytelling, and hivestats.io is great for keeping an eye on how your first posts are doing. What do you think the daughter should have done differently in that situation?
