It’s been a while since my last contribution to the Street Art community, so I took a quick trip to the Kampong Glam area to see if any of the street art had been updated or painted over. Hmm, does it keep changing? Maybe not all of it, but some spots seem to be in constant flux. I’m not entirely sure why—perhaps the artists themselves are updating or covering up their own work. Or maybe the building owners are bringing in different artists to repaint the walls whenever they feel it’s time for a refresh.
At this point, I’m just guessing the reasons behind these changes. But hey, why complain when I’m the one getting amazed every time a new piece appears, right?
There are certain spots in Kampong Glam that I remember often getting a street art revamp, and that’s exactly what today’s post is about.
I found two locations with updated murals, plus a few new spots I hadn’t explored before, where I discovered some really cool street art.
Let me start with the one that impressed me the most. Near Jalan Sultan Road, there’s a wall where the full height was utilized for a stunning mural. It’s visible from a distance, making it easy to spot even from Beach Road.
When I visited this area months ago, I saw an artist working on this piece. Back then, he was just preparing the wall, so I had no clue what the final artwork would be. But on this recent visit, I finally saw the completed mural—and it turns out he designed it to align with this year’s Chinese zodiac sign, the Snake! Of course, it has that signature street art vibe, which makes it even cooler.
And then, there were a few more pieces nearby that caught my eye, so I happily took photos to add to my photo walk collection.
I hope you enjoy this set!
Exploring Kampong Glam’s ever-changing street art scene is always an exciting adventure, and this visit was no exception. It’s fascinating to see how artists continue to transform these walls, bringing fresh perspectives and creativity to the neighborhood. I’ll definitely be back to see what new masterpieces appear next!
