Poor cat! 😐 ...and the owner.
Lately, I have been looking at the maps of my area for new off-road tracks and routes. Part of my ride today was to include some of those new tracks and to scout for better connections between the tracks, trying to avoid too many busy roads! It was not an easy task as it turned out.
I had to negotiate about a mile of the busy A24 at peak time, which I did not like one bit. There was no other option other than return along the bridalway that I had just left! I found a footpath further down the road, which was rideable to my relief!
This gate was a little awkward, but I managed to lift the bike up enough to pass. Just one of the hazards that you can find on an unfamiliar path.
I spotted a long track on the map, which looked interesting. It certainly was! There were plenty of footbridges along the way and steep banks with steps, too.
There was once a time when I would have riden down these steps but not out on my own, far too dangerous 🤣.
I was soon back on familiar tracks again. I passed through the grounds of Christ's Hospital again today, taking another picture of the huge area of grounds.
This ride turned out to be the logest ride this year! At 32 miles. It could easily have been more if I had not taken a slightly shorter route on the home stretch.
I think I will plan the next ride in a different direction. There are plenty of options yet to explore! Watch this space! 😁
