The rhododendrons are beautiful in Tilgate Park this year! As I passed through today on a cycle ride, I spotted this huge red coloured tree with flowers all over, hanging down.
It was a good opportunity for a few photos.
I continued on my way through the park, on my way out into the wider forest area where it was very quiet. Not a soul to be seen . Probably because it was threatening to rain! I did feel a few drops of the wet stuff as I was riding.
A short but steep hill next to the Nature Centre was my first challenge. Then, along a dark path under the trees. It looks quite bright in my pictures, but this was very dark, or was it my sunglasses? 😅
Finally, out into the deep forest. Up Cowdray Hill, and out towards Worth Abbey. The temperature was perfect for this type of ride. It felt slightly chilly until I warmed up, but I soon felt very comfortable.
After a short stop for some refreshments, I carried on, now downhill again, turning back towards Tilgate Park.
Once back in Tilgate Park, I made my way to the main car park where I noticed a sign about Dinosaurs in the Park. A fun thing for the family is being set up, and they have fenched off a large part of the woods for this event.
Todays ride, 13½ miles. Just a maintaining fitness level ride which is just what I needed.
