Tilgate Zoo is a great place to take children. This animal sanctuary is situated in one of our public parks, Tilgate Park, to be precise.
The entrance is found inside a garden area called the Walled Garden.
There are a few birds here, including a pair of Emu's. There have been some changes since we last came, and there are signs of renovations going on, which is a good sign.
The meerkats are always worth a visit and amusing to watch as they play about.
The serval was a treat to see as they are usually invisible, staying inside their den. I caught sight of it as I was just about to move away.
After a much needed cup of tea, we walked around a bit more before heading back to the car. We were accompanied by our grandson of five years old, a bit of a handful, so enough is enough! 🤣.
