Yesterday I walked around the lower part of Goffs Park. So today I decided to walk the top half including the lake.
After crossing the railway bridge, and keeping to the tarmac path to avoid the muddy grass. We have had rather a lot of rain recently which has left the ground saturated.

Now ascending the perimeter pathway to the manor house, which is currently boarded up, awaiting renovation.

At this point it began raining again! I didn't need to worry as it soon stopped but was threatening to all the time. I carried on past the old building towards the small lake.

Lakes and ponds always look kind of sad in winter. Full of dead wood and leaves, waiting for sunnier times. But thats the good part, watching the changes happen as the skies brighten up. I spotted some shoots appearing from the soil in the park. Last winter the daffodils started blooming in January! Thats very early. Perhaps the same will happen this coming January. We'll see!
