Historical gardens : My Actifit Report Card: May 15 2026

in Actifit7 days ago

It can be interesting to find out about the history of your location. Like this plaque on one of our town council buildings. It states that the grounds and gardens on this site were designed and laid way back in the 1880's by a man called James Pulham. The mansion that originally stood here has long been demolished to be replaced by a block of flats.

The council buildings here in the photos were built much more recently, but I don't have a date. They are used by the staff looking after the grounds and gardens, which are quite extensive and includes a lake as well which is home to swans, geese and turtles.

So very interesting researching the history of where you live my friend!!👍😀
So so much of this can be easily lost unless someone diligently record the history!!
Hope you have a beautiful sunny weekend, enjoy!!😎

The red brick caught my eye as similar to a historic city hall/town council building up here. Love the history!

It does look very similar. Thanks for your reply.

Wow that's a pretty impressive history there. Glad the grounds and gardens were preserved. Lovely that there's a lake there with all the loveable wildlife. Wish we have more gardens with wildlife too. Enjoy your weekend!
