November is coming to an end, and in my office, we have the lovely tradition of celebrating the birthday person of the month with a gathering of everyone who is there.
In this case, I was the only one with a birthday, and they had suggested doing it on the same day 😕 and I was like: look, no. That day is for spending with family. So we postponed it to the end of the month, which is when we get paid. You know that the financial situation doesn’t always help 🙃.
Noviembre está culminando y en mi oficina tenemos la bonita tradición de celebrar el cumpleañero del mes, con una reunión entre todos los que estamos allí. En este caso, yo era la única de cumpleaños y me habían propuesto hacerlo el mismo día 😕 y yo como que: miren, no. Ese día es para pasarlo en familia. Así que lo dejamos para fin de mes que es cuando cobramos. Saben que la situación económica a veces no ayuda 🙃.
The tradition is that the person being honored does not decorate or wear anything; however, since a few days ago I was in a bakery class, I made a ham bread (a traditional Christmas dish) to share with my classmates. It was an excellent choice because everyone loved it 💯.
La tradición es, que la persona homenajeada no decora o lleva algo; sin embargo, como en días pasados estuve en una formación de panadería, hice un pan de jamón (plato tradicional navideño), para compartir con mis compañeras. Fue una excelente opción porque a todas les encantó 💯.
Of course, they always take care of the decorations, and like every year, it was obviously for Christmas, since the office was decorated that way and we can't break the visual effect. Also, we always wear a suit or something related to Christmas.

This year I chose to dress normally and just wear some headband reindeer to match the Christmas decorations.

The cake was spectacular. Last year, I think the person in charge of making the cake got confused and, although it was delicious, made it a GENDER REVEAL 😆. It was a joke all evening, so this time, I think they were very careful, and successfully, to make it Christmas-themed. It was filled with caramel, and honestly, it was delicious 💯.
La torta fue un espectáculo. El año pasado creo que la persona encargada de hacer el pastel, se confundió y, aunque está riquísima, la hizo de REVELACIÓN DE SEXO 😆. Fue un chiste toda la velada, así que esta vez, creo que fueron muy cuidadosas, y con éxito, de que fuera navideña. Estaba rellena de arequipe, y la verdad, estaba deliciosa 💯.
The group photo was a must, and even though it was the usual crowd, that didn’t stop us from talking, laughing, taking pictures, and enjoying a different kind of morning:

As we are coming to the end, some have left for vacations, others went on leave, and some are attending to matters outside the institution. That’s why these few moments together fill us with unity, solidarity, laughter, and sharing, because in the end, they are another family we have, one of those we acquire in life and that teach us something.
My boss gave me the gift of a delicious splash; I think that since we met, we’ve had the tradition of giving each other something for special occasions 😊.
Como ya estamos finalizando, algunas se despidieron de vacaciones, otras salieron de reposo y algunas siguen ocupaciones fuera de la institución, por eso, estos pocos momentos de estar juntas nos llena de unión, solidaridad, risas, compartir, porque al final, son una familia más que tenemos, de esas que adquirimos en la vida y nos enseñan algo. Mi jefa me hizo el obsequio de un delicioso splash; creo que desde que nos conocemos ya tenemos la tradición de regalarnos algo por las fechas especiales 😊.
And so we end this month, which left me with many lessons, joys, smiles, and love. With small gestures, we maintain harmony within our office, and it is something I will always cherish in my heart.
Y así terminamos este mes que me dejo muchas enseñanzas, alegrías, sonrisas y amor. Con pequeños detalles, mantenemos la armonía dentro de nuestra oficina y es algo que siempre atesoraré en mi corazón.
