I didn't know this Italian author before my mum gave me this book.
This is Rosa Mogliasso's first book to be translated into French. Unfortunately, it is not yet available in English.
Je ne connaissais pas cette autrice italienne, avant que ma maman ne m'offre ce livre.
C'est le premier livre de Rosa Mogliasso qui a été traduit en français. Il n'existe, malheureusement, pas encore en anglais.

And after all, someone will eventually take care of it… right?

As you can see on the back cover, we examine the behaviour of people who discover a dead body while out walking.
As we turn the pages, we also learn why these walkers hesitate to call the police and prefer to ignore the body.
While one might expect an investigation to be conducted to understand the circumstances of the crime, that is not the purpose of this story.
The book is only 130 pages long, during which we delve into the minds and lives of the characters.

Nous apprenons aussi, au fil des pages, les raisons pour lesquelles ces promeneurs hésitent à appeler la police et préfèrent ignorer le corps.
Alors qu'on s'attend à ce qu'une enquête soit menée pour comprendre les circonstances du crime, ce n'est pas le but de cette histoire.
Le livre ne fait que 130 pages au cours desquelles on s'immisce dans la tête et dans la vie des gens.
What would you do if you discovered a body along the path while out on your morning jog? Would you call the police, alert other passers-by, or just carry on walking, ignoring the body?
My conscience would tell me to call the police, but would I be able to do so? Would I be in shock or feel nauseous?
As you will have understood, reading this book leads us to question whether we find the characters' reactions normal and how we would react in the same situation.
Et vous, que feriez-vous si vous découvriez un corps le long du chemin, pendant que vous faites votre footing du matin ? Vous appelleriez la police, vous interpelleriez d'autres passants, vous passeriez votre chemin en ignorant le corps, .. ?
Ma conscience me dirait d'appeler la police, mais serais-je en état de le faire, ne serais-je pas en état de choc ou avec quelque nausée qui m'incommoderait ?
La lecture de ce livre, vous l'aurez compris, nous amène à nous questionner .. si nous trouvons la réaction des personnages normale et comment nous réagirions dans la même situation.
This book may seem mundane when you read it, but the fact that it makes us question ourselves proves that it leaves its mark on our minds in its own way.
It's a very easy read, so don't hesitate to pick it up if you come across it.
Now, I'm going to start a book I just bought that might help me focus, or at least teach me how to free myself from digital and other distractions. I really need this to make progress in my professional and personal life.

Ce livre peut sembler banal lors de sa lecture, mais le fait qu'il nous interroge sur nous-mêmes prouve qu'il marque notre esprit à sa manière.
Il se lit très facilement, donc n'hésitez pas si vous le croisez.
Maintenant, je vais commencer un livre que je viens d'acheter et qui pourrait bien m'aider à me concentrer, en tout cas m'apprendre à m'affranchir des distractions numériques et autres. J'en ai bien besoin pour avancer dans mes tâches professionnelles et personnelles.
