🎸A Very Nineties Ska Three Tune Tuesday!
1996-1997-1998-1999 Ska Tunes! 🎺

For this weeks Three Tune Tuesday I’m going nineties ska! AKA Third Wave Ska! Bringing you three bands that I believe should have had singles with similar success as The Mighty Mighty Bosstones tune “The Impression That I Get”. In fact here’s that tune as my Bonus Tune! 🎶 ⬇️

Band - Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Song - The Impression That I Get
Album - Let’s Face It (1997)

Now that we got the bonus tune outta the way, here’s my three main picks! The first pick did get some mainstream love & MTV play, just not as much as the bonus tune or bands like No Doubt. The second & third picks I actually saw on MTV’s Sunday night show 120 Minutes, which featured lesser known alt rock bands and had a lot of ska in the 1997-1999 era so I did technically discover them there but they didn’t get any regular rotation play and were sadly not hits. I think they should have been though!

Enjoy The Tunes! 🎶

Band - Reel Big Fish
Song - Beer
Album - Turn the Radio Off (1996)

Band - Spring Heeled Jack
Song - Jolene
Album - Songs from Suburbia (1998)

Band - Edna’s Goldfish
Song - Veronica Sawyer
Album - The Elements of Transition (1999)

Let’s go ahead & add one more lesser known Ska band for an extra Bonus Tune! 🎶

Looks like the officer music video version isn’t working unless you click through to YouTube so here’s the audio only version ⬇️
Band - Mustard Plug
Song - You
Album - Evildoers Beware! (1997)

Thanks for swinging by! Drop a comment and let me know what u thought of the tunes! Also big thanks to @ablaze for hosting #ThreeTuneTuesday weekly along with his weekly prize giveaway! Go check ‘em out for more info!

Have a happy new year friends! 🎸
