On this Gene & Ashlee Eighties Saturday post we are just picking DailyJams from a different alternative eighties band each. Ashlee goes with The Pixies
Who influenced all the nineties bands to come the following years. Gene goes with HUSKER ĐÜ who also had a role in influencing the conking nineties wave of bands.

Ashlee picks DailyJam Monkey Gone to Heaven from 1989 album “Doolittle“. For BonusJam it’s the 1988 album “Surfer Rosa” and the song Where Is My Mind.

Gene picks the song New Day Rising for DailyJam off the 1985 album “New Day Rising”. For BonusJam it’s the song Something I Learned Today from 1984 album Zen Arcade!

Two of the most important bands in terms of influence on the Nineties alternative scene. Chances are your favorite nineties band loved these two bands! Cheers!

On this day in 1992, Siouxsie And The Banshees released "Face to Face," a song written for the "Batman Returns" soundtrack.

Came here for 1980s music and ended up loving a 90s one I have completely forgotten about. Here’s another one from them; I discovered this one through the Marie Antoinette soundtrack, it’s great:

It’s showing up broken. Give me the band and song title so I can look up 👍🎸

Hey, I’m so sorry I couldn’t reply before. My computer broke down and I had also troubles with my internet connection. The song I sent you was Hong Kong Garden by Siouxsie and the Banshees. It was their very first single and I discovered it through the Marie Antoinette soundtrack. I hope you like it.

I’ve been listening a lot to the early eighties records from them. I’m gonna give record number one a listen! It’s been a minute!

Wow!
This is interesting!
I'd love to listen to related songs the more

Here’s a few more eighties tunes from lesser known bands…

Dramarama - Anything Anything

Descendents - Good Good Things

Killing Joke - Follow The Leaders

Pixies - Gouge Away

Public Image - Public Image

Oh great, I'll check them out

Good stuff, Pixies are awesome, some nice picks. Husker Du was new to me, but pretty cool jam!

Oh, tag back, your turn!

I still listen to all the old songs from my country. I like them a lot. Today's songs are not that good.
