En todo el 2025 se lo dije infinidad de veces: ¡hazlo!
Pero nada… jamás me hizo caso.
Todo ese año se la pasó diciendo que le gustaba, que no sabía cómo vivir sin ella, que iba a confesárselo. Pero no, señor. Este tipo, cada vez que tenía la ocasión, se acobardaba y dejaba pasar la oportunidad.
De alguna forma, el universo lo ayudaba: se la encontraba por todos lados, ella lo llamaba, le escribía por redes, se mandaban mensajes, reían mucho, la pasaban bien juntos. Pero aun con todo ese empeño del universo —que ya era descarado— el hombre nada que se declaraba.
Doce meses pasaron y todos esperábamos el gran acontecimiento. Teníamos las botellas listas para destapar, los cohetes preparados para iluminar el cielo… pero qué va, el muy cobarde nos decepcionó.
Ahora que ha llegado el 2026, nos juró que antes de que terminara el mes no pasaba. Y nosotros, al unísono, le gritamos: ¡hazlo, pero ya!
Y ahí está… sentado, como si le hubiese dado un ACV. No se mueve. No habla. No reacciona. Y nosotros, angustiados, mirando el reloj.
Ya se me pasaron cinco minutos y ese tipo sigue allí, inmóvil, como una estatua. Y nadie sabe si, mientras tanto, otro ya se le adelantó.
¡Ajá! Apenas escribí esto último, el chico ha pelado los ojos. Algo pasó. Algo lo golpeó. Ahora veremos si por fin se motiva.

We’ll keep you posted
Throughout all of 2025, I told him countless times: shoot it!
But nothing… he never listened to me.
All year long, he kept saying he liked her, that he didn’t know how to live without her, that he was going to confess it to her. But no, sir. This guy, every single time he had the chance, chickened out and let the opportunity slip away.
Somehow, the universe was helping him: he ran into her everywhere, she called him, wrote to him on social media, they messaged each other, laughed a lot, genuinely enjoyed being together. But even with all that effort from the universe —which was already shameless— the man still couldn’t bring himself to confess.
Twelve months went by, and we were all expecting the big moment. We had the bottles ready to pop, the fireworks lined up to light the sky… but no, the coward disappointed us.
Now that 2026 has arrived, he swore it wouldn’t go past the end of this month. And we all shouted in unison: shoot it, now!
And there he is… sitting there, as if he’d had a stroke. He doesn’t move. He doesn’t speak. He doesn’t react. And we, anxious, staring at the clock.
Five minutes have gone by, and the guy is still there, frozen like a statue. And no one knows whether, in the meantime, someone else has already beaten him to it.
Aha! Just as I wrote that last line, the guy’s eyes popped open. Something happened. Something hit him. Now we’ll see if he finally finds the courage.
