The rainy season has begun, and I think all kids love this time of year because it gives them a chance to play with water outdoors. However, it also brings some challenges, as it increases the risk of infections. So far, everything has been fine, and I hope we can remain cautious during this season.
This morning, just as we were about to leave the house to drop Gurseerat off at the school bus stop, there was heavy rain. To avoid getting soaked, I decided to take her in my car instead of walking. While we were sitting in the car, we noticed another vehicle in front of us. The rain fell steadily, and my windshield wipers were working hard.
Kids have such a creative imagination; Gurseerat remarked that it looked like colors were spreading. She was actually referring to the red lights of the car in front of us. When the wipers swept the rain off the windshield, she could see the light clearly. But during the intervals when the wipers weren’t moving, the water flowed across the glass and blurred her view, making the red light seem to spread.

बच्चों की कल्पनाशक्ति बहुत रचनात्मक होती है; गुरसीरत ने कहा कि ऐसा लग रहा था जैसे रंग फैल रहे हों। वह दरअसल हमारे सामने वाली कार की लाल बत्तियों की बात कर रही थी। जब वाइपर विंडशील्ड से बारिश की बत्ती हटाते थे, तो वह रोशनी साफ़ देख पाती थी। लेकिन बीच-बीच में जब वाइपर नहीं हिलते थे, तो पानी शीशे पर बहता था और उसका नज़ारा धुंधला हो जाता था, जिससे लाल बत्ती फैलती हुई प्रतीत होती थी।
