Hello Splinterlands Community, I have been trying to become active again on playing the game and being part of these community challenge makes me excited once again on reuniting with my troops that I have collected for a couple of years. This week the theme of the Splinterlands community contest is about creating a contest which is very exciting as it allows the community to share their ideas and creativity on the different contests that can be definitely help shape the future of community challenges. My idea for this contest is to focus around team composition as the contest I propose is looking for cards from different sets that has the same statistics and abilities. I will talk more about all the key details on this contest I am thinking about below.

📝Contest Title

Your Stats Looks Familiar

With over a thousand of cards and summoners/archons across all sets that is available on the game. It is not impossible that a specific card would have a similar stats and abilities against a card from the other set. This contest is about finding the card from the different set that has the same stats and/or abilities (if applicable) to the featured card that will be shared on the contest.

🎯 Objectives

The main objectives of this contest is to test the critical thinking and familiarity of the players in the game especially the ones who have played the game many years ago where there are only one mode of ranked game and this contest also aims to inform or give the new players in the game some interesting alternative cards they can use when they are building their team composition.

It may look very simple as the game already has a comprehensive filters which can make the searching of the card fast. However if the featured card is leveled up, it can be more tedious task as there is no level filter inside the game and the participants must look for each cards that are shown in the filter.

📜 Rules & Format

The Rules and Format of the contest is very simple. As mentioned above, there will be a featured card in the contest where the participants must find all the possible cards from the different set of the featured card in the game that has the same stats (level, health, armor, melee/ranged/magic damage and speed) as well as the current ability if applicable. Below is the restrictions and guidelines on finding the card that has the same stats as the featured card.

1. The chosen card should be from a different set from the featured card

   • If the featured card is from Rebellion Set, the chosen card should be from any card sets except Rebellion. The card sets can come from any Main Sets, Mini Sets or Expansion sets.

2. Watch out on the level of the featured card since the level of the featured card must be similar as well to the level of the chosen card

   • If the featured card is level 1, the stats of the chosen card should also be similar at level 1 as well

3. If the featured card has an ability, the chosen card should only have the same ability from the featured card

   • If the featured card has only Sneak ability, the chosen card should also only have the Sneak ability. If the Chosen card has two abilities like Sneak and Thorns, it is not going to be accepted.

4. The mana cost is not strictly enforced for this contest

   • If the featured card has 5 mana, the chosen card can have a different mana cost as long as the stats and/or abilities are the same

5. The rarity is not strictly enforced for this contest

   • If the featured card is rare, the chosen card can be common, rare, epic or legendary

6. The element of the card is strictly enforced for this contest

   • If the featured card is from the Life element, the chosen card should also come from the Life element. Cards with dual element or more is accepted as long as the element of the featured card is present.

7. The chosen card should be from a different set from the featured card

   • If the featured card is from Rebellion Set, the chosen card should be from any card sets except Rebellion.

8. You can choose multiple cards that has the same stats from the featured card

   • There is no restriction on the number of cards you can find and share as long as it matches all the criteria above.

9. Participants should provide some details on the chosen card/s and share a battle link where they use that card on their match

   • The details primary needed for the chosen card is from what card set it comes from and on what game mode it can be use such as (modern, wild, frontier, guild brawls and etc.). The battle link can also come from any game mode as long as it is present in the match.

🏆 Judging Criteria

The main criteria for judging the contest is basically checking if the chosen card/s has followed all the rules mentioned on the guidelines. The participant that have shared the most number of cards that is similar to the featured card in the contest can be declared the winner. Additionally, the point system can also be applied to this contest wherein 1 point can be given to the card if it has similar stats and/or abilities to the featured card and additional points can be given if the rarity and mana cost of the chosen card is also similar to the featured card which could make the contest more competitive.

💡 Why It’s Fun / Unique

The contest can be describe as card hunting of the community and could also be a bragging rights for the players if they are using a specific card that matches the featured card and wanted to share or showcase that card in the community. I also think this contest could be enjoyable if there is a high stakes or rewards involve where the participants would have to go deeper on their knowledge in the game.

My Chosen Card:

The featured card is Ember Roast Sow which is a fire unit from the Foundations set and the card I chose that has the similar stats and ability with that card is Kobold Miner which is one of the first cards in the game as it is part of the Alpha/Beta set. Both these units have 2 health, 2 speed and 1 damage at level 1 and they also both have the Sneak ability which makes them a good asset in the game. The Kobold Miner is available to use on Wild and Survival Format.

This is the survival match where I use Kobold Miner hoping to take down the enemy team. I am in a very disadvantage position for this match at the fist look as the enemy team is primarily composed of magic damage monsters and the armor buff from my Frontline unit is essentially not useful. The double healers from the enemy team is also the key which makes the match too difficult for me to overcome.
