Greetings dear friends of Amazing Drinks. I hope you had a happy new year 2025. After some time of absence, I come back to this beautiful community to share with you a drink based on hibiscus flower. I love this flower because the flavor it gives off is one of my favorites, citrus. I had always had it in hot tea and once, years ago, a colleague of mine prepared it cold and even made it with blackberry juice. The truth is that I liked it as a cold drink, and believe it or not, I was about to buy these flowers for a long time until the opportunity presented itself. I didn't have to go to the market, I was walking downtown with a friend and a lady was selling them, I immediately bought them.

I decided to combine it with lemon and a vegetable that stars in many drinks for its diuretic properties, cucumber. This drink contains a lot of vitamin C, and it is also very refreshing for these days when the sun does not rest and remains intense. The hibiscus flower favors the digestive system, it has many properties, among them, diuretic and antioxidant. I wanted to try this drink, but I tell you that I should not take it too much because it tends to lower blood pressure levels and I just have low blood pressure, so you have to be very careful with this.

Ingredients

- 2 cups hibiscus flowers

- 1 medium cucumber

- 2 Lemons

- Brown sugar to taste, it can be white sugar

- 2 Liters of water

Preparation

1.-. In a pot pour 2 liters of water, put it over medium heat, once it comes to a boil add the previously washed hibiscus flowers and let them boil for 10 minutes. Let it cool at room temperature and then strain it.

2.- Wash the cucumber, remove the seeds and cut it into small pieces.

3.- Cut the lemons in half and extract the juice.

4.- In the blender, pour the 2 liters of Jamaica water, then add the rest of the ingredients: the cucumber, the juice of the two lemons and the sugar to taste. Blend for 15 seconds and serve.

Saludos estimados amigos de Amazing Drinks. Espero que hayan recibido un feliz año nuevo 2025. Después de un tiempo de ausencia, paso por esta linda comunidad para compartirles una bebida a base de flor de Jamaica. Esta flor me encanta, porque el sabor que desprende es uno de mis favoritos, el cítrico. Siempre la había tomado en té caliente y una vez hace años una compañera de trabajo la preparó fría y hasta la hizo pasar por jugo de moras. Lo cierto es que me gustó como bebida fría, y aunque no lo crean, estaba por comprar estas flores desde hace tiempo hasta que se me presentó la oportunidad. No tuve que ir al mercado, caminaba por el centro con una amiga y una señora las estaba vendiendo, enseguida las compré.

Decidí combinarla con limón y un vegetal que protagoniza muchas bebidas por sus propiedades diuréticas, el pepino. Esta bebida contiene mucha vitamina C, además, es muy refrescante para estos días en los que el sol no descansa y se mantiene intenso. La flor de Jamaica favorece al sistema digestivo, cuenta con muchas propiedades, entre ellas, diuréticas y antioxidantes. Quise probar esta bebida, pero les cuento que no debo tomarla mucho porque tiende a bajar los niveles de tensión arterial y yo justamente soy de tensión baja, así que hay que estar muy pendiente con esto.

Ingredientes

- 2 tazas de flores de jamaica

- 1 Pepino mediano

- 2 Limones

- Azúcar morena al gusto, puede ser blanca

- 2 Litros de agua

Preparación

1.-. En una olla vertemos los 2 litros de agua, la ponemos a fuego medio, una vez que rompa el hervor añadimos las flores de Jamaica previamente lavadas y dejamos que hiervan por 10 minutos. Dejamos enfriar a temperatura ambiente y luego colamos.

2.- Lavamos el pepino, le extraemos las semillas y lo cortamos en trozos pequeños.

3.- Cortamos los limones a la mitad y extraemos el jugo.

4.- En la licuadora, vertemos los 2 litros de agua de Jamaica, luego añadimos el resto de los ingredientes: el pepino, el jugo de los dos limones y el azúcar al gusto. Licuamos por 15 segundos y servimos.
