I’ve finally received everything. The parcels arrived, were opened, checked, and photographed.
USB flash drives with my logo, rotating metal dice, and tools for metal model kits.
First, the USB flash drives. They were expected, because they had a very specific purpose. I copied my music onto them, the music I produce myself under the name Ithara Gaïan, carried by the Principality of Bastion label.
These drives are not meant to be sold, nor used for promotion. Their destination is simple: Christmas gifts.
At the Christmas gathering, everyone will get their own drive. A tangible object, something you can plug in, store away, or use to keep files safe. I find that much cooler than sending a link by message or saying “you can listen on such and such a platform.” Here, it’s given physically. And let’s be honest: if they don’t like my music, at least they’ll have the drive. It’s still usable, it doesn’t vanish.
You might not connect with what I do, but you still leave with something in your hands. I’m perfectly fine with that.
Then there are the dice. Those are for me. They have a particular value, because they replace the ones I gave to my son. At the time, I hadn’t realized how much I would regret that gesture. Now I know: ah, if only I’d known… Anyway, mistake fixed.
These rotating dice are exactly what I was looking for. Each disk plays several roles at once: d4, d6, d8, d10, and d12, depending on which ring face is used. It’s compact, readable, pleasant to handle, and above all, durable.
I took two specifically to handle the d100. I like objects that have weight, both literally and figuratively. These dice don’t roll everywhere, they don’t get lost under a table, and they don’t feel like gimmicks. They are gaming tools, sober, efficient, and clearly built to last. I’m sure they’ll stay with me for a long time.
Finally, there are the tools for metal model kits.
Until now, I was only looking at that from a distance. I had the models, but not the proper tools to assemble them correctly. Now that’s taken care of. The pliers and the small precision tools are here. I’ll be able to get into it seriously.
I already know what I’ll start with: the dragon. It will be the first.
After that, I’m still hesitating. The knight or the car? I haven’t decided yet.
What matters is that I can finally try, with proper equipment.

J’ai enfin tout reçu. Les colis sont arrivés, ouverts, vérifiés, et pris en photos.
Des clefs USB avec mon logo, des dés rotatifs en métal, et des outils pour maquettes métalliques.
Les clefs USB d’abord. Elles étaient attendues, parce qu’elles avaient une fonction très précise. J’y ai copié ma musique, celle que je produis moi-même sous le nom Ithara Gaïan, portée par le label Principauté du Bastion.
Ces clefs ne sont pas destinées à être vendues, ni à faire de la promo. Elles ont une destination simple : des cadeaux à Noël.
À la soirée de Noël, chacun aura sa clef. Un objet tangible, que l’on peut brancher, ranger, ou pour garder des fichiers en sécurité. Je trouve ça plus cool qu’un lien envoyé par message ou qu’un « tu peux écouter sur telle plateforme ». Là, c’est donné, physiquement. Et puis soyons clairs : s’ils n’aiment pas ma musique, ils auront au moins la clef. Elle reste utilisable, elle ne disparaît pas.
On peut ne pas accrocher à ce que je fais, mais repartir quand même avec quelque chose entre les mains. Ça me va très bien comme ça.
Ensuite, il y a les dés. Ceux-là sont pour moi. Ils ont une valeur un peu particulière, parce qu’ils remplacent ceux que j’ai offerts à mon fils. Sur le moment, je n’avais pas mesuré à quel point j’allais regretter ce geste. Maintenant je le sais : ah, si j’avais su… Bref, erreur réparée.
Ces dés rotatifs sont exactement ce que je cherchais. Chaque disque joue plusieurs rôles à la fois : dé 4, dé 6, dé 8, dé 10 et dé 12, selon la face de l’anneau utilisé. C’est compact, lisible, agréable à manipuler, et surtout durable.
J’en ai pris deux spécifiquement pour gérer le dé 100. J’aime les objets qui ont du poids, au sens propre comme au figuré. Ces dés ne roulent pas n’importe comment, ils ne se perdent pas sous une table, ils ne donnent pas l’impression d’être des gadgets. Ce sont des outils de jeu, sobres, efficaces, et clairement faits pour durer. Ils resteront avec moi longtemps, j’en suis sûr.
Enfin, il y a les outils pour les maquettes en métal.
Jusqu’ici, je regardais ça de loin. J’avais les maquettes, mais pas de quoi les monter correctement. Maintenant, c’est réglé. Les pinces et les petits outils précis sont là. Je vais pouvoir m’y mettre sérieusement.
Je sais déjà par quoi je vais commencer : le dragon. C’est lui qui ouvrira le bal.
Ensuite, j’hésite encore. Le chevalier ou la voiture ? Je n’ai pas encore tranché.
L’important, c’est que je peux enfin essayer avec du matériel adapté.
