MABON
Tomorrow, Monday, September 22nd, will be Mabon, an important Sabbath, as it marks the harvest season, a time of gratitude to the planet that provided the food that will see us through yesterday, but also to its workers, the farmers who toiled to bring this food to maturity...
During the Autumnal Equinox, days become equal to nights, which gradually heralds the arrival of winter. So, we feast to prepare for the darker and colder period ahead.
At the time, the months following Mabon depended on accumulated reserves, and so people showed their gratitude through offerings, hoping that harvests would be as bountiful in future years, or even more so if the year had been less successful.
Today, it is still customary to engage in a few activities such as:
- Taking a mindful walk in the forest (or a park) to experience the transition of the seasons and thank nature for its gifts.
- Decorate your home with branches, dried flowers, and shades of ochre, red, or orange to extend the autumn spirit.
- Slow down, take time for introspection, and plan your personal development, just as nature is resting.
Mabon is one of the long-standing European traditions that some still honor. Let me know in the comments if you're aware of its existence and significance.

MABON
Demain, lundi 22 septembre, ce sera Mabon, un Sabbat important, puisqu'il marque le temps des récoltes, un temps de gratitude envers la planète qui a porté les aliments qui nous permettront de passer l'hier, mais également ses ouvriers, les agriculteurs qui ont travaillé dur pour amener ces aliments à maturité...
Lors de l'équinoxe d'Automne, les jours sont équivalents au nuits, ce qui annonce, petit à petit l'arrivée de l'hiver. Alors on fait un festin, pour se préparer à la période plus sombre et plus froide qui arrive.
A l'époque, les mois qui suivent Mabon dépendent des réserves accumulées, et donc les gens montraient leur gratitude via des offrandes, en espérant que les récoltes seraient aussi généreuses les prochaines années, voire plus si l'année avait été moins bonne.
De nos jours, il est encore d'usage de faire quelques activités comme :
- Faire une promenade consciente en forêt (ou dans un parc) pour ressentir la transition de la saison et remercier la nature pour ses dons.
- Décorer son intérieur avec des branches, des fleurs séchées et des teintes ocre, rouge ou orange pour prolonger l’esprit automnal.
- Ralentir, s’accorder un temps d’introspection et planifier son développement personnel, à l’image de la nature qui se met au repos.
Mabon fait partie des traditions européennes qui datent d'il y a bien longtemps, mais que certains continuent à honorer. N'hésitez pas à me dire en commentaire si vous en connaissiez l'existence et la signification.
