Hello everyone!
Hope your day is going on well. I'm excited to participate in this week's contest in the @indiaunited community. Incase you're interested in joining the prompt;
What do you do when you need motivation?
You can join the contest here
A lot of things demotivate one towards the pursuit and realization of one's dream. Especially when you know you're doing all you could to keep hope alive. Sometimes it could be that you're not getting the desired results, while those whom you think are not doing as much as you do get things going on well for them way more than it is for you. These can easily get one demotivated and it is normal to get that feeling because we are human.
As much as it is normal for one to lose motivation at some points, it is also necessary for one to find the motivation to move on with one's dream. Because obviously if one carries on with the state of hopelessness one may get to the point of feeling depressed which is even more dangerous to one's health and well-being.
When I need motivation if my spirit is down and I feel like the world is crashing over me, when I'm at a cross road and don't know which way to go. When I feel like throwing in the towel and calling it a quit. When nothing matters to me anymore that I begin to doubt my efforts, and wear anxiety like a garment. When I need motivation like an oxygen to breathe, the first thing I do is to pray and meditate with the Holy book for divine guidance and direction. It's amazing how soothing and energizing my spirit could be afterwards.
I'm a music lover, I like listening to good and timeless musics. So, another approach I adopt when I need motivation is to listen to inspirational/motivational music like reggae, classical and hymns. I also listen to motivational audio clips of Jim Rohn and Les Brown . Like some years back when our three different businesses crashed in succession like they were in the race of the first to get to the finish line to win the prize, lol. I almost got depressed. It was these approaches that lifted my spirit.
Sometimes when I need motivation, I know that the only motivation I need at that point is not extrinsic but intrinsic motivation. This time I have to have a meeting with myself, yes, I sit in front of my mirror and have a talk with myself. I look at my “Why”. Why I started in the first place, where I'm going to and the reason behind my journey, knowing fully well that I have mysel to make proud. I ask myself a couple of questions and sincerely answer it because I don't need to deceive nor fail myself. All these propel me to pick up myself to start again.
Feeling demotivated usually occur when things are not going the way I expected which is not out of place as human. To keep track of events and put myself back on track I meditate, pray to my God, listen to good music, motivational clips and motivate myself with reference to the big picture - my “Why” , and get motivated,
This is my submission to this week's prompt as state above. Thanks abundantly for stopping by, I truly and deeply appreciate it.🙏🙌🤗💚✨
