This post is for the #wednesdaywalk challenge and the #makemesmile challenge collaboration. This collaboration initially took place once a month, but due to its popularity, @tattoodjay (of the #wednesdaywalk) and @elizacheng (of #makemesmile) decided to make it a weekly thing.

Last weekend was quite a busy weekend and there was no time for taking photos... Well, not for the purpose of sharing anyway...lol.
On Saturday morning we had some business to take care of and then by late morning, we left for the Kwazulu Natal Midlands. We got invited to a wedding at the Calderwood Hall, a wedding venue in the beautiful Midlands. The Calderwood Hall is located on a farm in the Midlands. You can see more of the venue at calderwood.co.za. The wedding ceremony took place in the Chapel at 14h00, and we then got treated with a lovely afternoon, spending the time outdoors in the garden. The garden can be seen in front of the beautiful building in the photos when you visit their website.
On Sunday, we spent the day with our kids and grandkids, as they treated my wife with a garden picnic at our oldest daughter's house to celebrate my wife's birthday during last week.
So, I decided to get some shots of the ocean on Monday morning.
I left for Amanzimtoti and arrived at the beach at about 8am.
It was a cool, but beautiful morning and it lent itself to such a variety of photos that I decided to make the ocean my theme for this month.
Today, I would like to share the calmness of a fresh, new morning. There were signs of life, but everything was calm and there was no sign of anybody being in a rush to go anywhere.
Here and there you could see a couple going for an early morning walk on the beach and the lifeguards were on duty. You can clearly see where the early-morning sun broke through the clouds, brightly shining on the water below.
While the lifeguards were putting one of their two boats through its paces in the waves, they had another boat on the beach.
I walked down to a rocky area and got some nice shots of the surf washing over the rocks...
I love the next scene, with the surf rolling over the rocks onto the shore, the deep blue ocean behind it, and a thick bank of clouds still hanging over the ocean on the horizon. I decided to feature this image in my online store this week. I think this photo is going to find its way onto a wall in my house soon...lol. What do you think?
Then I noticed some activity in the water behind the rocks.
There were two snorkel divers in the water...
The one is clearly visible in this photo.
In the next photo, he turned his back on the swell and just relaxed for a moment...
After while he started scanning the scenes below again... His head is visible just behind the orange marker attached to him.
After scanning for a while, covering quite an area, it was "bottoms up" before going down below the surface...lol.
In the next shot, I was able to capture the diver's silhouette just below the surface of the swell.
In my last photo for today, I captured another peaceful activity...a couple of fishermen in the distance, casting their lines for their early morning catch.
And with that we come to the end of today's post. Next week, I'll share some beautiful waves as they formed coming towards the beach.
Thank you for reading my post!
I do appreciate it!
