There is no longing and desire stronger and more human than this...We are all looking for happiness and everyone has their own idea about how to be happy.
But no one really knows the formula of happiness and the one who thinks he has it or has achieved it, soon reality will take care of disappointing. There are plenty of theories about happiness. Self-help books promise.
Even philosophers tell us about it, in particular epicureanism and its realistic CARPE DIEM. Happiness exists but for moments, for instants, for short times, by definition, for concrete situations, which must be understood and constructed to last, for example: the couple, the family, a vocation, I stop counting...
Anguish, finitude due to illness or death conspire against happiness and material, moral and spiritual deficiencies, by the way, these last two are our absolute responsibility.
Our temporality and our stages of life with their cares and the problems and the very difficult human relationships in all aspects and the great distance there is between what we wanted to be, or have and what we achieved effectively.
It seems a lie, but we almost always grow old dissatisfied with ourselves, with others and with circumstances.
That is why true wisdom, without renouncing happiness, transcends it and speaks to us of serenity and balance.
How many times, in our life, being able to be happy with so many simple and wonderful things that surround us, we do not identify them. Because we believe that happiness is something else, and that we deserve something more and better.
Only when something is lost, it is estimated, while we keep dreaming with chimeras, illusions, until the real reality catches up with us and disappointment, bitterness and loneliness comes.
No one who pretends to be who they are cannot be happy. Happiness is in being yourself, with lights and shadows. This is very true, at least for me, because many are just a facade, with masks and everything for what? To appear what they are not and will not be.
Undoubtedly, the problem is that it does not depend on ourselves but on our closest ones. Let's enjoy those who are very close to us, let's try to be happy with them.
Dancing, singing, a massage, a long shower, doing weights, walking in nature, immersing ourselves in the sea are our best medicines in the processes to achieve the fullness and moments to be happy. I'm not asking you to be normal, just to be you.Sometimes we want more, and that's why we don't enjoy what we already have.
The great writer Jorge Luis Borges, expresses it very well when he said that he regretted not having been happy, although now he enjoyed serenity, as my beloved parents do, in the cover photo, which I share with you.
