The way or what I want to be remembered for?
In the little years I have lived on this planet, I have been able to live a life that, each time I hear people talk about me, I smile because it gives me satisfaction and tells exactly who I am, not that I am living to please others.
In my community, where I have spent a big portion of my life so far, anytime I am visiting home and I try to sneak into the village, I get noticed from afar and there is no way I can hide because I know people, and people know me. I get called on, even from the two cities before my village where I take the final bus to my destination, and that is because the people who know me are always there. Sometimes, I get carried all the way from there to my village free of charge in a private air-conditioned car, or I board a vehicle or motorcycle at a highly reduced price.
This is so because I do not have a bad record, and I have a very calm, trouble-free, gentle look, coupled with the fact that I have been privileged to work with high-profile people, especially well-known religious figures with good reputations as well.
In one of the few times I traveled home last year for events such as burial and marriage ceremonies, I met some people who did not know me and asked about me. I was introduced by people I never expected, and I was highly spoken of in the introduction while I stood smiling and nodding my head.
So, that is it—that is what I want to be known for. I do not desire to be famous like the celebrities we have; I do not want to be known for being rich. Of course, I will be rich, but I do not want that to be the means by which people know me. I want to remain in this line of being a lovable person to all, continuing to keep good records always.
Honestly, as a young guy, there are things my mates are doing, but I get shunned by my instincts each time I think of testing their path, and that is because I do not want to create a bad record. Also, such a path is not my lifestyle, and I might try it once and it gets exposed.
