Hola mi gente bella de @needleworkmonday, un gusto visitarlos en este nuevo lunes de costura, hoy además de mostrarles uno más de mis proyectos, también les cuento que está seria mi participación en el reto #HiveAroundTheWorld, una iniciativa de @hivecreatorsday en donde por 7 días y hoy es el último estuvimos compartiendo a través de @liketu, algunas cosas, espacios y aficiones que nos gustan y así conocernos un poco más como hivers amigos.
Para este día 7 el tema que debíamos tratar es sobre alguna afición que nos guste o represente. A decir verdad, tengo varias, pero últimamente la que más me apasiona es la costura. Es algo que he venido aprendiendo paso a paso mientras voy elaborando prendas de vestir para mis princesas.
Hoy les comparto cómo estuve realizando esta linda falda de tablones, la cual forma parte de un conjunto que le estoy haciendo a mi hija @ariannamc para su comunión.
Estuve viendo varios tutoriales y así hacerla de la mejor manera. Para ello usé tela de raso, una con una consistencia gruesa para que se vieran con bastante volumen los tablones.
Quería que todos los tablones fueran de la misma medida y para esto hice un patrón tomando las medidas del contorno de cintura. Usé una regla a escala al 25% para poder hacer los patrones más pequeños y ahorrar papel.
Luego todas esas medidas las fui pasando a la tela y miren que quedó perfecto. Me gustó mucho esta técnica, en donde los tablones quedaron de la misma manera, aunque le confieso que, al cocerlos por más que le pasé costura a mano para fijar bien, los tablones al pasar la costura a máquina se separaron un poco.
Teniendo esta parte lista, hice la pretina de unos 5 cm de ancho, le puse entre tela para darle más cuerpo y se vea mucho más hermoso el acabado. Ahora tocaba el turno del cierre, esta parte es que es un poco más complicada, pero sí se pudo y me alegro de que quedó muy bien.
La parte de adentro de la pretina la cocí a mano, no quería pasarle costura a máquina y se ve mucho mejor así. Algo bueno de esta parte es que le enseñé a mi princesa Arianna cómo hacerlo y ella fue que lo hizo prácticamente completo y lo hizo muy bien, un trabajo limpio y delicado.
Al final le hice el dobladillo y así de linda quedó la falda. Todavía falta plancharla bien, apenas la terminé y quiero tener todo listo para planchar.
También está casi listo el corset que le hace juego a la falda y sin duda mi hija se verá preciosa en su comunión. Lo que me falta es hacerle el cintillo, aún no me termino de decidir qué modelo hacer.
Soy amante de las manualidades, de lo que he hecho a mano con amor y, si es para mis princesas, pongo todos los esfuerzos necesarios para cumplir con cada proyecto de costura que emprendo.
Siento que esta afición por la costura, porque es algo que hago de a ratos y me encanta. Pronto será más que eso y quizás más adelante, gracias a las habilidades que vaya aprendiendo, pueda tener un emprendimiento en este hermoso mundo de telas y puntadas

Day 7 / Sewing a cute pleated skirt
Hello, my beautiful people at @needleworkmonday, it's a pleasure to visit you on this new Monday of sewing. Today, in addition to showing you another one of my projects, I'm also telling you that I'm participating in the #HiveAroundTheWorld challenge, an initiative by @hivecreatorsday where, for seven days (today is the last one), we've been sharing some of the things, places, and hobbies we like through @liketu, so we can get to know each other a little better as fellow hivers.
For this seventh day, the topic we had to discuss was a hobby we like or that represents us. To tell you the truth, I have several, but lately the one I am most passionate about is sewing. It is something I have been learning step by step while making clothes for my princesses.
Today I am sharing with you how I made this beautiful pleated skirt, which is part of an outfit I am making for my daughter @ariannamc for her communion.
I watched several tutorials to learn how to make it the best way possible. For this, I used satin fabric, one with a thick consistency so that the pleats would have enough volume.
I wanted all the pleats to be the same size, so I made a pattern by taking measurements of the waistline. I used a 25% scale ruler to make the patterns smaller and save paper.
Then I transferred all those measurements to the fabric, and look how perfect it turned out. I really liked this technique, where the slats all turned out the same, although I must admit that, even though I sewed them by hand to secure them well, the slats separated a little when I sewed them with the machine.
With this part ready, I made the waistband about 5 cm wide, added fabric to give it more body and make the finish look much nicer. Now it was time for the closure, which is a little more complicated, but I managed it and I'm glad it turned out so well.
I sewed the inside of the waistband by hand, as I didn't want to machine stitch it and it looks much better this way. One good thing about this part is that I taught my princess Arianna how to do it and she did practically the whole thing herself and did a great job, with clean and delicate work.
Finally, I hemmed it, and the skirt turned out so pretty. I still need to iron it properly. I just finished it and want to have everything ready to iron.
The corset that matches the skirt is also almost ready, and my daughter will undoubtedly look beautiful at her communion. All that's left is to make the headband, but I haven't decided on a design yet.
I love crafts, things I've made by hand with love, and if it's for my princesses, I put all the effort necessary into completing every sewing project I undertake.
I feel that this hobby of sewing is something I do from time to time and I love it. Soon it will be more than that, and perhaps later, thanks to the skills I am learning, I will be able to start a business in this beautiful world of fabrics and stitches.
