Saludos y bendiciones, mis queridos amigos de @Needleworkmonday, un gusto visitarlos en este nuevo lunes de costura en donde vengo a mostrarles un nuevo proyecto, no sin antes desearles que tengan una semana maravillosa llena de creatividad y todo lo mejor que puedan hacer para estar alegres.
Mi suegra tenía algunos meses aquí y le había comprado esta tela para hacerle una bata para estar en casa. Por cierto, el color o el estampado se lo escogió mi princesa Ámbar, pero ella se antojó de esta. Ella me dijo: mami, las flores son para mi abuela y los muñecos para mí.
Igual el estampado se ve bonito, luego le compraré otras telas para hacerle una más para su edad, ya que es una señora de 85 años, gracias a Dios le encantó.
Como en estos últimos tiempos he estado bastante ocupada y tenía otras costuras, había dejado ese proyecto atrás, pero hace días ella me dijo que se iba el domingo, me lo dijo el sábado al mediodía. Así que en la tarde me puse rápidamente a buscar un modelo para hacerla porque no me podía perdonar que se fuera sin hacerle lo que le había prometido.
En línea había visto este modelo en el que hacen una abertura por los costados. Para hacer este proyecto tomé una de sus batas, para no tomar muchas medidas ni hacer patrones, porque no tenía papel Bond y tampoco el tiempo suficiente que me tomaba hacerlo.
Coloque la bata encima de la tela doblada y fui sacando el modelo deseado, ella me había dicho que la hiciera un poco más grande por la parte de la siza y así lo hice, pero resultó que cuando la había hecho le quedó grande tuve que modificarla nuevamente, todo esto me confirma que es muchísimo mejor hacer la prenda de vestir sacando primeramente un patrón con las medidas exactas a utilizar, por qué copiando sobre la tela dejándose llevar por una prenda ya hecha, no te va a dar los mismos resultados que haciendo un buen patrón.
La bata fue bastante sencilla, le hice los frunces con doble costura e hilo elástico, luego cocí por los hombros y los costados, una vez teniendo la bata lista recordé que yo había comprado un encaje para colocárselo en alguna parte de la prenda y cómo les digo estaba sobre el tiempo, se me ocurrió que lo más fácil era colocarlo en el cuello y en las mangas y aunque pase doble costura fue lo mejor que hice, rápido y sencillo.
Por acá ven el resultado, la coloqué en un gancho. Al otro día quería ponérmela o que ella se la pusiera para modelarla, pero se tenía que ir rápido y no me dio tiempo. Así que gracias a Dios que le había tomado esta foto para mostrarles.
Lo mejor fue que a ella le encantó. Como ya les había dicho, la tela es muy suave y le quedó hermoso el detalle de la manga que es tipo murciélago, le quedó muy bonita. Se ve como una bata de vestir, aunque no se note mucho en la foto. Se le ve hasta elegante si no fuera por ese estampado.
Espero estar realizándole otras y poder también hacerle algunas prendas a mi mamá que todavía no le he hecho la primera y está ansiosa porque lo haga.

A robe for my mother-in-law

My mother-in-law was here for a few months, and I had bought this fabric to make her a robe to wear at home. By the way, the color and pattern were chosen by my princess Amber, but she took a liking to this one. She told me, "Mommy, the flowers are for my grandmother and the dolls are for me."
The pattern looks nice, so I'll buy her some other fabrics to make her another one more suitable for her age, since she is an 85-year-old lady. Thank God she loved it.
As I've been quite busy lately and had other sewing projects, I had put this one on hold, but a few days ago she told me she was leaving on Sunday. She told me on Saturday at noon. So in the afternoon, I quickly started looking for a pattern to make it because I couldn't forgive myself for letting her leave without doing what I had promised her.
I had seen this pattern online where they make an opening on the sides. To make this project, I took one of her robes so I wouldn't have to take many measurements or make patterns, because I didn't have any bond paper or enough time to do so.
I placed the robe on top of the folded fabric and traced the desired pattern. She had told me to make it a little bigger in the waist, so I did, but it turned out that when I had made it, it was too big, so I had to modify it again. All this confirms to me that it is much better to make the garment by first drawing a pattern with the exact measurements to be used, because copying onto the fabric and letting yourself be guided by a ready-made garment will not give you the same results as making a good pattern.
The robe was quite simple. I made the gathers with double stitching and elastic thread, then I sewed the shoulders and sides. Once the robe was ready, I remembered that I had bought some lace to put on part of the garment, and as I said, I was running out of time, so I decided that the easiest thing to do was to put it on the collar and sleeves, and even though it was double stitching, it was the best thing I could have done, quick and easy.
Here you can see the result. I hung it on a hanger. The next day, I wanted to wear it or have her wear it to model it, but she had to leave quickly and I didn't have time. So thank God I had taken this photo to show you.
The best part was that she loved it. As I had already told you, the fabric is very soft, and the batwing sleeve detail looked beautiful on her. It looks like a dress robe, although you can't really tell from the photo. It would even look elegant if it weren't for the print.
I hope to make her some more and also make some clothes for my mom, who I haven't made anything for yet and is eager for me to do so.
