How is the economy in your country.jpg

The great thing about the hive blockchain is that it links people from all over the world. For today's mission, we would like to know how things are going in your country. In Switzerland, I have the feeling for example that every year it's getting more difficult to put money aside. Costs are increasing and income not so much. How is it for you? How is it in your country?

How is the economy evolving in your country? Tell us where you live and what you witness?

Officially, we are doing well. In reality, the gap between top and low class is wider every day. And middle class is slowly sinking down and disappearing into low class.

Personally, I am doing well. It depends on your line of business and rewards it brings !LOLZ

Generally, in perspective and for future, pension fund is in debt already. If you don't take care of it now and invest in your retirement, if you can, you will be in trouble come retirement.

Regionally, we are vassals of EU. Being ruled by unelected officials, waiving EU flag, being sold fake democracy. What they couldn't conquer with weapons in two world wars, they managed now with economy and politics, with help of corrupted politicians.

I guess it's the same everywhere in the "free world".

Seems like to be a similar situation than here around.

It sucks over here. They increased taxes and will do that again...

Probably while the income didn't really go up...

Nope. I've seen some of the opposite, plus layoffs in the industry making parts for German auto industry, which is doing really bad for years now.

I think Canada is having the worst moment in their economy history with all the tariffs going on etc. Unemployment levels are rising and I am not sure where I will be in the next 3 years.

The president of your neighbours is problably the main reason for that...

It is a big reason for sure...

Ours (Philippines) sucks, with all the corruptions and such. Cost of living continues to rise with the prices of consumer goods/basic necessities increasing almost every week. Somehow, peole are getting by, and can still splurge on things, especially this month of December.

Thank you❤️

When corruption has inflitrated the whole economy, it's difficult to come out of it...

Not too bad here in the US, but I'm worried about recession coming in the next year. The world's economy is looking horrible and debt here is becoming way too high. And that's assuming World War 3 doesn't break out as well...

I live in Brazil and, well, there's not much to say. Here, almost everything is bad: corrupt politicians, high taxes, poor public policies, not much to do.

In general, the economy is always bad because of greedy people and a corrupt electoral system... so there's not much positive left.

It's difficult to have a nicely working economy in a corrupted environment...

thx

How is it for you?

For me, personally, life is good and I have a pretty easy time of it as I don't have many overheads. Currently, I fit into the first category of Mr Micawber's equation: "Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness." [Charles Dickens, David Copperfield]

How is it in your country?

I think a lot of people are feeling the pinch. With the low yen, imports are more expensive but wages have remained stagnant for years. There is a lot of hidden poverty, especially for single parent families, I believe.

How is the economy evolving in your country?

Well, the economy seems to be sluggish. "Real GDP growth is projected at +0.9% for FY2025 (November 2025 forecast: +1.0%)" https://www.dlri.co.jp/english/report_en/202512YS.html

Although the new Prime Minister, Sanae Takaichi, channels Margaret Thatcher, her cabinet has just announced a huge (US$136 billion) stimulus package. While some of the measures will provide short term relief to those in need, it simply adds to the massive mountain of Japanese government debt while further weakening the yen (good for exports, but pushes up import prices).

On the other hand, Japanese stocks have done well this year, so some people are secretly smiling!

It's been fine for me personally, but things have been going up in price so I can't say that everything will be fine in the future. I think it's rough in the US as more and more people's wages can't keep up with the price increases. Adding in all the tension going on with Trump, I can't predict how the economy will change though.

With this president you have like a black Swan event about once a month...

I live in the united states, politics seems to be on everybody's mind lately here, it makes people uneasy, afraid to give their true opinions. I really don't think the economy is too bad because I really don't focus on it much.I live a very minimalistic life where I don't need much besides the basics to live.

It's a good way to keep costs low and to avoid being dependent on a big salary.

Here the interest rate is high because of the excessive government spending to control the inflation. However the stock market is at ath, and the inflation seems to be under control now. So maybe soon we'll see the drop in interest rate and things will be better...

If the central bank does it's job, it will probably lower the interests if inflation is under control.

In the USA the economy is probably at an inflection point. It has been going up (market) for several years with hugh inflation. I see a bit of softness around the edges where more stores are closing and houses are empty and on the market. It feels like a blowoff top to me so I am expecting a correction/recession in 2026.

From over here, I really wonder how small businesses in the US manage to deal with the constant changes or tarifs...

Here in England, I am not convinced about our economy at all, since many of our councils are bankrupt, towns are now full of rubbish shops or empty units, our roads are badly pot-holed. The government is intent on adding more taxes rather than stimulating industry or growth here. It is not a great economy at all!

When things are getting in disrepair it's often a sign that things are not going that well...

That’s very true and we’re not the only country who has taken a downturn of course.

In Indonesia

The official government will say economic is rising, investment are flowing in. Jobs booming everywhere. We are going to the golden era.

What I see right now:
Businesses are dieing, market is idle. There are no real jobs here, I mean people can find a job such as online food delivery, part time freelancer and many but no real formal employments from companies.

The rich getting richer, only certain industry such as crypto that is booming, but questionable if it is a real boom or just a few success stories that have gone viral.

my answer will be the same, as we are from the same country.
it just suck to see what happening here in my country.

That doesn't sound well and it's often a game from politicians that pretent that things are better that they really are...

Everything is expensive in Singapore. 🤑

I do hear lots of complaints about jobs and such, but I don't see that issue in my own circle. Fact is, I have lots of trouble recruiting the very in-demand and experienced/skilled workers that are needed.

Latest stats which I've read in the past week put our estimated economic growth at about 4% and inflation at about 1%. We're definitely faring a lot better than many places currently.

Life is good I guess? 🎉

Singapore seems to be a positive example when I read these comments.

Here in the Netherlands all seems fine so far , we have only 18 milion citizens good social system and health insurances .
the biggest problem here is finding a house at the moment , most young people live with their parents for a long time simply because they are unable to buy something or find something to rent.

Unemployment

I'm working closely with a dutch company and it seems they work less than we do and the situation isn't too bad :-)

I live in Spain. Half of you know exactly what it's like here. 😅🤣 Everything is getting more expensive every day and wages are staying the same or getting lower, so we're getting poorer and poorer. Speculation everywhere.

so we're getting poorer and poorer.

That seems to be a recurrent picture in many countries...

In the UK, pension rises are governed by "Triple Lock". Which means that increases are the highest of 2.5%, inflation, or earnings growth. So this year my income has increased by 4.1%.

It will always be nice to have more. But I can live reasonably well. So I'm happy 😁.

!BBH

If the income grows faster than the costs that's actually not too bad :-)

Sweden is at a crossroad, economy has been in decline and we need to beat down the real inflation. Its largely driven by food and energy prices here.

The inflation that the politicians show seems to be different than the one we feel in our wallets...

Yes for some reason.

Very strange 😅

From Singapore. Our economy is doing decent I guess, but within the economy, some sectors are doing better than others.

Of course it's different from one sector to the next but from what I have heard it seems that Singapore is doing pretty well...

Hehe 🙂

The economy is chugging along very well as far as I'm concerned in this sunny island of Singapore. :)

Seems Singapore is doing better than most...

In my country economic feels not good, also additional fees and taxes make me sad. Government tries to take money from people as much as it possible Hope once something can change.

I don't follow this closely, but the current government is brainwashing people into thinking that everything is great. Still, statistics from the EU and daily events show that not everything is fine in many areas, not just finance. Also in healthcare, justice, and security.
But the elections are approaching. Media workers will have a lot of work to do. 😂

The economy of my country, Cuba, is complicated and very hard for most people. We live with low salaries that are not enough to cover the real prices of basic goods. There is a strong dependence on imports, remittances, and tourism, while national production is insufficient. The State controls a large part of the economy, and the private sector exists but with many restrictions and taxes, which leads to shortages, inflation, and a constant loss of purchasing power in everyday life.

I live in Venezuela.
The economy in Venezuela has faced significant challenges in recent years.
Although there have been some signs of stabilization recently, such as a slight improvement in trade activity and informal dollarization that has facilitated some transactions, inflation remains a major problem.
Many people still struggle to access basic goods and essential services.
In addition, the economic differences between those who have access to foreign currency and those who do not have generated marked inequalities.
However, there is a spirit of resilience in the population that drives small enterprises and alternatives to get ahead.

USA - Our economy is doing good. Inflation is higher than I would like but still lower than a lot of other countries in the world. It is relative to what you are accustom to I guess. Countries are trying to influence other countries by changing trade or other policies. Those in power want more power so try to bully others to get what they feel is theirs even though it never was theirs before. I do not understand how everyone can be so mean to others. Emotions need to be contained so that rational thought can be considered.
