We Salute You!
Hey Actifitters,
Quite a busy day to finish the month, as you probably guessed it from the cover photo, it involved a legendary concert in the evening.
But many things to do in the morning as well. And of course, we also wanted to spend time with Le Chat in the yard.
We didn't have enough time for our usual long walk with Kaia, but we did go to the small forest behind the front yard.
We went on the other side of the forest and met our tree friend. We told him we were kind of in a hurry, because of the concert and he seemed very surprised it was today...
So just a little more exploration with Le Chat and that was it for this short walk.
Of course, we couldn't be late for this huge event: AC/DC at the Ford Field in Detroit, home of the Lions! Never saw AC/DC live before but started listening to them as a kid with my older brother. No way I was going to miss it!
After a drink in town, we headed to Ford Field, and arrived as The Pretty Reckless started their set. First thing we noticed: wow, we are far, far from the stage. Unfortunately unless you spend several hundred dollars on resale tickets, it's not easy to get much closer.
That clearly tested the limits of the zoom on my phone camera. But I cheated a few times with pictures from the giant screens.
Anyways, just like probably 99.99% of the 45000 people there, we were there for only one band: AC/DC!! And here they were!
I won't write a full review here and include dozen of photos, just a sample.
Obviously, Angus Young, 70 and Brian Johnson, 77 were the stars of the show. Amazing to see them so energetic and of course talented at that age. Angus Young still rocking his trademark moves.
More than 2 hours of great and loud rock and roll, or hard rock, whatever genre you want to put them in. No surprise on the playlist, all songs are basically classics. And of course, the big finish with TNT and For those about to rock (We salute you), along with the canons and the pyro!
Well, a really great concert, even though stadium shows are usually not my preference. I really admire these musicians that still can perform at this level, many decades after starting their career. Hopefully they can keep doing it for a while.
As always, thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow.
