Hey Actifitters,
Like I mentioned in my previous report, there were more twists in the new furnace saga. First they were supposed to show up for the new installation on Wednesday. But early on Tuesday, after barely an hour of sleep (yes our hours are very weird!), I got woken up by noises at the door and here they were, ready to get to work. I mean that's good, but they could have given a heads up! This is not the end of this fiasco.
But we didn't let it bother us too much and the beautiful sunny weather helped.
Even Le Chat tried to soak up a little sun.
Instead of a long walk, we went for multiple short ones, often just behind the front yard in the small forest.
We also roamed the neighborhood for a while. It's usually quiet, but it seems to be even quieter just before the holidays.
It's not quiet for the squirrels though, with much less snow and the sun, they were all over the place. I counted at least half a dozen in just that one front yard.
Even though it was technically a work day for me, we also spent a lot of time in the backyard. It was perfect weather for espressos on the deck.
As usual Kaia played her heart out, while Le Chat mostly went back into hiding under the deck.
Just before sunset, we went for one last walk in the small forest.
More time for Kaia to run, jump and chase critters, and more photo opportunities.
When we were back, Kaia tried to convince Le Chat to get out from under the deck, but that didn't work. Even after the HVAC guys left, she was still very scared.
Talking about the HVAC, after they ripped out the new furnace, added the new A/C unit, and put back the furnace, redid most of the wiring and piping, everything seemed to run well. And of course, literally 10 minutes after they left, it failed again! It was already kind of late but they did send someone again. He stayed until after 9pm and after changing a few things, we really thought that was finally it. And it failed an hour later... This would be comical if it wasn't so annoying! I will wait after Christmas to call again, but they will have to find the solution eventually, even if they have to rebuild the whole system, including in the crawlspace. Not urgent anymore I guess as I can still get some heat in between the failures. Frustrating...
But once again, the bar is cleared in the December #poprzeczka competition, still a clean sheet, yay!!
