Hello, everyone! Today I will be continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me keep track of the songs I have used so I dont end up repeating them. The last song I talked about in my last post is: Punks Jump Up To Get Beat Down from the band Brand Nubian.
A los jovenes de ayer: Seru Giran
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is A Los Jovenes de Ayer from the legendary argentine band Seru Giran.
The band I have selected for today's post is directly related to the strong influence my mother had on my musical tastes during my childhood. From a very young age, there was always music playing in my house. It wasn't constant or imposed, but every now and then a speaker would appear and music would start playing throughout the house. There was a mix of songs in English and a lot of Argentine rock, without much criteria, just whatever she felt like listening to at the time.
One of the artists who appeared most often in that music was Charly Garcia. Whether with different bands or in other projects, his music was quite present. At the time, I didn't associate it directly, but years later I realized that much of the Argentine rock I ended up listening to came from that first contact I had with him.
Speaking of Charly Garcia, one of his most successful bands was Seru Giran, with which he ended up releasing several of the legendary songs that represent Argentine rock so well. For my part, I began to delve deeper into this band a couple of years ago, when I had become a complete fan of his solo career.
Seru Giran was an Argentine rock band formed in the late 1970s. It consisted of the successful vocalist and pianist Charly Garcia, guitarist David Lebón, bassist Pedro Aznar, and drummer Oscar Moro. Before the band was formed, these artists were already well known nationally, so expectations were very high.
These high expectations ended up backfiring with their first album, which was heavily criticized for the band's musical style. However, they released their second album in 1979, which became one of their most successful: La Grasa de Las Capitales.
A Los Jovenes de Ayer was released in 1980 for the album Bicicleta, and was one of the last albums the band would release, as they would soon disband to pursue solo careers.
