Hello, everyone! Today I will be continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me keep track of the songs I have used so I dont end up repeating them. The last song I talked about in my last post is: Weeping Dawn from the artist Borislav Slavov.
Antes y despues: Ciro y Los Persas
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Antes y Después from the argentine rock band Ciro y Los Persas.
Argentine rock has been a big part of my life since I was a kid. This was mainly due to my mother's influence, as she listened to bands like Serú Girán, Soda Stereo, Los Abuelos de la Nada, and artists such as Charly García and Luis Alberto Spinetta. At the time, I listened to it because it was playing at home due to my mother's influence, but beyond that, I didn't listen to it very closely. However, over time, some songs stuck with me and would help me get hooked on Argentine rock in the future.
It was only during my teenage years, when Spotify appeared, that I began to get more into the genre on my own. That's when I discovered more “modern” bands like Attaque 77, Intoxicados, Los Piojos, and the one I've selected for today's post: Ciro y Los Persas. This band is currently, along with Las Pastillas del Abuelo, one of my favorites that are still active...
I've been listening to the band a lot lately, going through several of their albums, and I realized that despite having featured other songs by them, I had never included one of their best tracks: Antes y Después. I couldn't pass up this opportunity, so here I am to recommend this song to you.
Ciro y Los Persas is an Argentine band formed in 2009 by renowned artist Andrés Ciro Martinez, who was one of the leaders of another of the most iconic bands in Argentine rock: Los Piojos. This band also includes guitarist Marcos Bastos, guitarist Julian Isod, keyboardist Juan Ábalos, bassist Christian Perez, and drummer Javier Peréz.
Their first album was released the same year the band was formed and was titled Espejos. This album included songs such as my choice today, Antes y Después, Vas a Bailar, and others that quickly became classics in the singer's new phase.
