In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Somos de Calle from the legendary reggeaton artist Daddy Yankee.
Dear Hearts and Gentle People: Bob Crosby & The Bob Cats
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Deart Hearts and Gente People from the group Bob Crosby & The Bob Cats.
My choice today is an example of how important video games are when it comes to introducing players to new audiovisual works. Throughout my life, I have played a huge number of video games, and many of them have not only given me a great experience in terms of gameplay, but also taught me about culture, music, and many other things.
Of all the games I've played, if I had to highlight several that are very important when it comes to recommending music, I could start with the famous Grand Theft Auto series. This series has a huge music list, which is divided into several stations by genre, offering a wide variety of music such as hip-hop, international rock, pop, country, and other genres. Another example could also be a famous series such as FIFA.
There is a video game series that has also been very important when it comes to discovering music, specifically classical music and jazz. Before this, I didn't listen to any songs from this genre, even though I'm usually quite open-minded about my musical tastes. The series I'm talking about is Fallout, which has a list of stations featuring many of the hits from the 50s and 60s.
From the fourth installment of the saga, I have been able to extract some very good songs from that era, such as A Wonderful Guy by Tex Beneke, Butcher Pete by Roy Brown, I Don't Want to Set The World on Fire by The Ink Spots, The End of The World by Skeeter Davis (my favorite), and the one I have selected for today's post: Dear Hearts and Gentle People by Bob Crosby & The Bob Cats.
Bob Crosby & The Bob Cats was one of the most important jazz bands of the 1930s and 1940s, consisting of a group of at least ten people. It was a band led by Bob Crosby, the brother of one of the most important artists of his genre: Bing Crosby.
During their career, they released several iconic songs such as Way Back Home, Happy Times, Zing-A-Zing-A Zing Boom, March Of The Bob Cats, Can't We Be Friends? and my choice today: Dear Hearts and Gentle People. The latter also had its moment of fame in recent decades, as it appeared on the soundtrack of the iconic Fallout 4.
