Hello, everyone! Today I will be continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me keep track of the songs I have used so I dont end up repeating them. The last song I talked about in my last post is: The Nightingale from the band Percival Schuttenbach
Desarma y Sangra: Seru Giran
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Desarma y Sangra from the legendary argentine rock band Seru Giran.
After a week in which I included a song like Salir de la Melancolia, I felt the need to bring another one by Seru Giran. The other day, while I was uploading a post on Instagram after years of not using it, I wanted to find a song that would go well with the post. I didn't want to just put anything, so I started exploring the band's profile on Spotify, including songs I hadn't listened to much and didn't have in my favorites. That's the case with the song I've selected for today's post: Desarma y Sangra.
As I always say, my history with Argentine rock goes back to when I was very young, thanks to my mother's influence. Bands like Sui Generis, Soda Stereo, and of course Charly Garcia were always playing in my house. At the time, I wasn't aware of what I was listening to; it was just part of the environment.
It wasn't until my teenage years, when Spotify came along, that I began to delve much deeper into the genre. First with more modern bands like Attaque 77, Los Piojos, Intoxicados, and Ciro y Los Persas. Then, over time, I went back to the classics, ending up with groups like Sui Generis, Los Abuelos de la Nada, and Seru Giran.
Seru Giran was a legendary Argentine band formed in the late 1970s in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It was made up of members with incredible musical careers, such as vocalist and pianist Charly Garcia, bassist Pedro Aznar, drummer Oscar Moro, and guitarist David Lebón.
The band didn't get off to a great start. Their first album, Bicicleta, didn't make a big splash on the music scene at the time, nor did it convince listeners with the band's rhythm. As it happens, the song I have selected today is part of this “failure” that has gained more recognition over time. Desarma y Sangra has over 8 million plays on Spotify, which is a pretty good number compared to other songs on the same album.
