Hello, everyone! Today I will be continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me keep track of the songs I have used so I dont end up repeating them. The last song I talked about in my last post is: Antes y Después from the band Ciro y los Persas.
Knockin on Heaven’s Door: Guns N' Roses
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Knockin On Heaven's Door from the legendary band Guns N' Roses.
Rock music has been a big part of my life since I was very young. This was mainly due to the influence of my mother, who listened to many bands in both Spanish and English. At home, we used to listen to artists such as Charly Garcia, Spinetta, Seru Giran, Soda Stereo, and Pappo, but also other international bands that I listened to without paying too much attention at the time.
Over the years, I became more interested in international rock, and that was largely thanks to video games. One of the first examples was Grand Theft Auto San Andreas. One of the things I liked most about the game was being able to change radio stations while driving around the map. Those radio stations had a huge variety of songs and genres.
Another game that had a huge impact on me was Guitar Hero III. I remember spending hours trying to complete increasingly difficult songs with the guitar accessory. That game was what really made me pay attention to many English rock bands.
Among all those bands was Guns N' Roses. At that point, I started listening to several of their songs and recognizing their distinctive sound. Over time, I discovered more of the band's songs and understood why they had become one of the most important bands in rock. The other day, I was reviewing some of their songs and came across Knockin' on Heaven's Door, one of the best songs they've released in their entire career.
Guns N' Roses is a rock band formed in Los Angeles in the 1980s. It consisted of iconic vocalist Axl Rose, guitarist Slash, guitarist Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan, and drummer Steven Adler.
The group achieved widespread recognition after releasing their debut album, Appetite for Destruction, in 1987. Hits such as Sweet Child O Mine, Welcome To The Jungle, and Paradise City catapulted the group to absolute fame.
Knockin' on Heaven's Door is a cover of a song originally composed by Bob Dylan for the 1973 film Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid. Guns N' Roses' version was released in the early 1990s.
