Otra vuelta de Tuerca: Las Pastillas del Abuelo - My musical choice of the day and Rising Star Statistics

In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.

Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Poverty And Famine of Jan Valta and Adam Sporka.

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Otra vuelta de Tuerca of the argentine band Las Pastillas del Abuelo.

My choice today is related to my favorite active band in all of Argentine Rock. In my opinion, they've managed to dominate the scene in recent years, despite being on stage for more than fifteen years, remaining creative and with a permanence that few groups can boast.

My first experience with the group was during my almost teenage years. I used to visit my father on weekends. He was married to my stepmother, who already had children, so I had to live with them. My relationship with my stepbrother was very good despite the age difference. I remember playing many things thanks to him, and he also included me on some shows that made the experience even more special.

One of the most fun things was hanging out with his cousin, where we would do all sorts of silly things. On one of those occasions, my stepbrother's cousin was listening to music that was completely unfamiliar to me. The band he was listening to was Las Pastillas del Abuelo, and some of their songs caught my attention, such as El Sensei and Tantas Escaleras.

A few years later, with the rise of Spotify, I ended up finding many songs by this band and adding them to my “Likes.” I became a huge fan of the band, especially because of their creativity, the huge number of incredible songs they have (more than 50 are on my “Likes” list), and the instrumental level they display in each song. One of my favorite songs by the band is Otra Vuelta de Tuerca, and it's my choice for today.

Las Pastillas del Abuelo is an Argentine rock band formed in 2002 in Buenos Aires. It consists of vocalist Piti Fernandez, guitarist Fernando Vecchio, keyboardist Alejandro Mondelo, bassist Santiago Bogisich, Juan Comas, Joel Barbeito, and Diego Bozzalla.

The group achieved considerable recognition after releasing their first album in 2005: Por Colectora. This included several hits such as Skalipso, Perdido, La Casada, and Lo + Fino. However, it wasn't until they released their second album, named after the band, that they achieved true national success thanks to songs such as Tantas Escaleras, Candombe de Resacas, Otra Vuelta de Tuerca, and Viejo.
