In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.
Starting in May, I started to create a playlist to keep track of the last songs I commented on in my posts. It will be useful for me not to doubt if I had already talked about a song before or not. The last song is Six Days - Remix of the artist DJ Shadow, Mos Def.
Scandalous: Mis-Teeq
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Scandalous of the group Mist-Teeq
For this occasion, I have decided to bring a pretty random song that I liked from artists that are not so well known globally. Again, this song I have known thanks to the great influence that video games have when presenting songs from alternative or old artists to gamers. In this case, we are talking about Grand Theft Auto V, the best selling game in history.
Grand Theft Auto V has an outstanding soundtrack, distributed over several stations covering a wide variety of music genres. While I consider the GTA San Andreas stations to be on a higher level, this game's stations also offer a pretty good musical selection, especially when it comes to Latin music.
The funny thing is that I didn't discover the song directly through the station it appears on, but while visiting the mythical “Shoes” store. I thought the song was pretty good, plus I was introduced to a trio of artists who seem to be quite talented.
Mis Teeq was a female R&B and Hip-Hop band, active between 1999 and 2005. It was formed by four people at the beginning, but ended up being a trio formed by Sabrina Washington, Alesha Dixon and Su-Elise Nash.
Scandalous is one of the group's most successful songs, it was released in 2003 for their second album Eye Candy. The song reached the #2 spot in the UK's most played songs chart. In 2015, it was integrated into the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto V where it gained even more recognition.
Before announcing the winner of tonight's giveaway. I will share my game statistics on Rising Star, which I gathered using a tool that I created in Rising Star Utils. The new format will be similar to the one we used some time ago, using the Hive Tools application. However, the application didn't always work, so this time we will be using a Discord bot that is in charge of returning a winner from among all the comments on a Hive post. The rewards have increased to 150,000 STARBITS in February.
