Rising Star - My Daily song choice, Daily Rising Star statistics and giveaway of 150,000 starbits - The Message: Dr. Dre, Mary J Blige.

In this space I will be giving away STARBITS, sharing my experience with a song, telling how I discovered it, and providing interesting information about it. Then I will include several tables with statistics of the Rising Star game.

Starting in May, I started to create a playlist to keep track of the last songs I commented on in my posts. It will be useful for me not to doubt if I had already talked about a song before or not. The last song is Talking to my diary of the artist Dr. Dre

My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is The Message of the legendary artist Dr. Dre and Mary J Blige.

A few years ago, I was kind of bored and set out to watch the documentary “Explicit Lyrics” on Netflix, which was about one of the most iconic bands in hip-hop history N.W.A. I loved the story and was surprised that famous artists like Ice Cube, Dr. Dre and Eazy-E had shared a group for a few years. That's how I ended up understanding some of their most iconic songs, which were literally throwbacks to each other after leaving the band like Ice Cube's No Vaseline and Fuck With DRE day.

After watching the series, the first thing I did was to start listening to Dr. Dre's entire musical repertoire. I started with his first album: The Chronic, which ended up becoming one of my favorite Hip-Hop albums. But that's not all, there's an even better album called 2001, where Dr. Dre takes his sound to the next level. Every track has impeccable production, with deep bass, hard-hitting beats and memorable collaborations with artists like Snoop Dogg and Eminem.

As I've said a few times I'm not so fond of the words that are usually said in Hip-Hop that make apology to crime, but I can't deny that I love the instrumental of all the songs and the rapper's voice that accompanies them, so I have to make a small exception. One of Dr. Dre's strongest songs is The Message, a song he dedicates to his lifelong brother who ended up dying in a shooting.

The Message is a song that belongs to the album 2001, released in 1999. It is a collaboration with one of the most recognized artists of the genre: Mary J. Blige. Unlike other tracks on the album, this song has a more introspective and emotional tone, as it is dedicated to Dr. Dre's late brother.
