Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is Las Paces of the argentine band Las Pastillas del Abuelo
Woman to Woman: Joe Cocker
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Woman to Woman of the artist Joe Cocker.
The other day, I was preparing my daily music selection while listening to a song I had previously searched for on Spotify. As a result, songs that were not on my “Likes” list and were all of the same genre continued to play. The song I had selected the other day was Midlife Crisis by Faith No More, which was part of the Grand Theft Auto game soundtrack.
Suddenly, the instrumental version of a song I knew started playing, and I was already starting to sing along. But I was surprised to find that it wasn't really the song I thought it was. The song in question is Woman To Woman by Joe Cocker, which has an instrumental similar to the one used at the beginning of the song California Love by Dr. Dre and 2Pac Shakur.
Based on the style of music, I figured that Dr. Dre had used a sample of this song for California Love, and sure enough, after doing some research, I found out that was the case. Even though it doesn't have a lot of lyrics, I really like the song because it's super catchy thanks to its rhythm and chorus. Another thing I discovered while researching it is that it was also part of the Grand Theft Auto San Andreas soundtrack, but I don't really remember it at all.
Joe Cocker was a British rock, blues, and soul singer who began his musical career in the 1960s, performing in small clubs and bars. His big break came with his cover of The Beatles' “With a Little Help from My Friends,” which became one of the most iconic songs of his career. Renowned for his voice, Cocker often reinterpreted songs by other artists, always adding his own personal touch.
California Love is one of the most iconic songs in the history of West Coast rap. Born out of a collaboration in 1995 between successful artists Dr. Dre and 2Pac, it uses a sample from Joe Cocker's 1972 song Woman to Woman as its base.

The new format will be similar to the one we used some time ago with the Hive Tools application. However, since that app didn’t always work reliably, this time we’ll be using a Discord bot to select a winner from all the comments on a Hive post. The rewards have also increased, reaching 150,000 STARBITS in February.
