In this section, I will no longer be handing out STARBITS, as those entries are not allowed. However, I will continue to share high-quality songs, share how I discovered them, and share some interesting facts about them. To top it all off, I will also include several tables with the statistics compiled by the Rising Star game.
Since May, I have been creating a playlist to keep track of the latest songs I have discussed in my posts. This will help me remember whether I have already talked about a song before or not. The most recent one is A Story You Wont Believe from the polish artist Marcin Przybyiowicz
Time After Time: Cyndi Lauper
My song of choice on Spotify for today's post is Time After Time from the artist Cyndi Lauper
Recently, I've been selecting some songs to bring them in a more organized way and without repeating so many genres, so I've been looking for good choices in my Spotify likes list. The truth is that I didn't end up finding that much variety in songs, so I had to go looking for new ones. Actually, they're not new songs, but ones I heard a while ago, but I never knew the name of the song or the artist to be able to add them to my list.
So, the best option I had was to listen to one of my best playlists and use a tool that has been very valuable to me lately, which is the option that allows me to listen to songs similar to the content of the playlist after I finish listening to it. The truth is that it wasn't so good before, but lately, with the improvements in artificial intelligence, there has been a noticeable improvement in this area.
I used this feature on one of my favorite playlists, which has what I consider to be the best rock/pop songs from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. With artists like Laura Branigan, Skeeter Davis, Soft Cell, Foreigner, Elvis Presley, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Frank Sinatra, Irene Cara, and Berlin, I didn't expect Spotify to show me any bad songs.
I listened to four or five songs, but there was only one that I really liked, so I decided to make it my choice for today's post. I'm talking about Time After Time by Cyndi Lauper.
Cyndi Lauper is one of the most important pop artists of the 1980s. She began her career singing in local rock bands, but failed to make a name for herself. However, the brief recognition she had gained helped her sign as a solo artist and release her first official album.
Her first album, She's So Unusual, was released in 1983 and far exceeded the artist's expectations, becoming a worldwide success. This was due to songs that have now become iconic in the genre, such as Girls Just Want to Have Fun, She Bop, and Time After Time.
